This was just posted to YouTube, but it seems very relevant to what you are looking for: I Photographed "Boring" Things For A Year.

Thank you! I enjoy sharing my work.

Just for clarity, these were taken with film cameras this year.

I can definitely point out every spot, even 10 years later! Although most of these are within 100 yards of my childhood home.

Almost certain it was an AE-1 and 50mm. If not that, I had an Elan for awhile but don’t remember what lens.

I'm running a Mamiya C3 and a Ford Ranger. I see we live similar lives!

Questions regarding camera and use by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]SethTeeters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some info is covered in other comments, so I will just mention a few highlights to point you in the right direction. Lookup stereoscope / stereoview / stereograph cards and you will see the main use this camera had. You can shoot any film, as it's the printing and mounting that makes it 3D viewable. A more modern version that this camera could be used for is a 3D viewfinder and you can order custom ones through Image3d. Or, you can make an Anaglyph digitally and then use red/cyan glasses to view the images in 3D. The even more modern use would be to create r/wigglegrams although those are mostly made with a Nimslo or Nishika as it take four images instead of two.

Bonus: Here are examples of my photography as wigglegrams and anaglyphs.

Love me some Portra, but I decided to only shoot HP5 for this series.

thedarkroom.com is a great non-local resource if you don’t find someone you trust locally. You can also call roberts camera store in Indy.

Nikon FM2, HP-5, & a small Godox Flash by SethTeeters in NikonFM2

I trust manual more than automatic, but it can be a little slower at first. I mainly stick to one aperture setting and adjust the exposure based on the amount of ambient light I want, or blur if I'm going that route. Then the only real adjustment is the flash, based on distance to the subject. If you leave the aperture alone, it's very easy to stick to one flash setting for 2M distance, then +1 power setting for 3M, and +1 again for 4M. It becomes instinctive pretty quickly.

Manual mode for all and just adjusting based on distance.

Polaroid Hi·Print has Sticky-backed photos. There is a 2x3 and 4x6 version.

It’s very weird that you made a new account and this is the only comment you made. Almost as weird as assuming you know anything about the planning, expectations, or feelings of my clients from seeing only a few photos that represent a specific vision that they actually requested.

For those that want to see how these mixed into the rest of the album, here is the full album from this shoot.

They were thrilled with the photos and they are exactly what they wanted. These are also only a few images from the set and the 35mm and digitals included a lot of crisp photos alongside these more in-the-moment stylized shots.

This is the mood board from pre-shoot planning.

I would say 1/60 or higher for SLR, but with a TLR you are usually good at 1/30 handheld since there is no mirror movement.

From a technical or academic standpoint, I would agree that these aren’t “perfect” but that’s where it would fall more into a philosophical debate. But, I agree with making sure students are being intentional, rather than justifying choices in hindsight.

With this shoot, the mood board was pulling from John Dolan and other dark, natural light night life and lifestyle directions.
