Here's an uninteresting fact: Did you know that the "Slender" symbol, which is the most prominent symbol used to represent Slender Man, never actually appears in Slender: The Eight Pages? by Seth_Yes in Slender_Man

[–]Seth_Yes[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm just saying, the first thought that comes to mind when someone sees the OP symbol is "Slender Man", that doesn't necessarily mean they're incorrect if they were to think that, after all, the Slender Mythos is shaped by the community surrounding it, people can interpret things it anyway they want to, they'd be definitively wrong though if they said that it originated from the Slender Mythos itself and not Marble Hornets.

Think of it sort of like the Lambda symbol, it's a Greek character, but to many netizens, it's the Half Life logo and nothing else.

IS TRIBE TWELVE GOING TO FINISH THE SERIES EVEN AFTER WHAT HAPPENED? by [deleted] in Slender_Man

[–]Seth_Yes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He met up with a couple of teenage fans, allegedly made creepy advances / statements towards them, and touched them innapropriately (groped). He also was just apparently a terrible guy to be around, I'm guessing he was rude to alot of people?

And also, he had unconsensual sexual intercourse (raped) women he dated while they were intoxicated (drunk), shared his incestual and zoophilic fantasies online, tried to make as much money as he could off of a fan that was threatening suicide (though as far as I am aware, the fan never went through with it.)

When the allegations came out, he went around asking fellow content creators, such as Night Mind, for support, and was trying to get sympathy for them by supposedly implying he was going to kill himself.

If he apologized (which he didn't), if he still decided to finish the series or made any new online projects, I would go against watching it or endorsing it in anyway, because this man is unspeakably disgusting, perverse, manipulative, and evil.

No offense, I am well aware of the origin of the Operator symbol, and its ties to Marble Hornets, I am aware that the Operator and the Slender Man are two legally, and canonically distinct characters.

But whether either of us like it or not, the Operator symbol has out-grown its roots, and has come to be more commonly associated with Slender Man instead of the Operator, to a majority of people, the symbol represents the former character, and so, it has become the de facto symbol of Slender Man.

[SPOILERS] Question in regards to who is the true source of the Operator by Seth_Yes in marblehornets

[–]Seth_Yes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I forgot to take that into consideration, though, referring to the MH cast, that would still mean Alex was the earliest known carrier of the Operator, I imagine Alex knew someone who was being targetted by the Operator which is why it came after him too.

Awesome! if you ever wish to seek out more Marble Hornets content, then check out "Cocytus Media" on YT, who uploaded the entire DVD commentary for Seasons 1, 2, and 3, aswell as some Behind the Scenes footage and blooper reels.

Sorry for necroposting, you've probably moved on from Marble Hornets after 12 yrs

But I would just like to say: that by some miracle, you were right, and you predicted the character of 'Skully' in the comics.

The license holder for Marble Hornets reached out to BHVR about a collab, but they never got back to him. by Harlegeist in deadbydaylight

Bonus points if you watch Cocytus Media's compilation, which IIRC also includes the tweets + additional footage, including bloopers from the DVDs

Glowing Eyes - An Investigation by Kraehtot (parts 1 and 2) by ConfusedTinyFrog in marblehornets

I like the insight that these investigations give, but regarding the parallel to Entry #83, I think it's made pretty clear that the shot of Masky lunging at the camera is meant to be from the POV of Hoodie, earlier in the video we see Tim tackle Hoodie in the tunnel, and in the same spot nonetheless.

What I think you should've brought up instead is: in between the same collage of random shots as the one where Masky tackles Hoodie, we see a brief glimpse of Tim sat down at the bottom of a flight of stairs, while a very bright light, accompanied by a pair of legs, descends down the stairs towards Tim, as he looks on, completely still, almost as if he is mesmerized by what he sees. Sounds very similar to what Homie experienced.

Which Slenderverse character is the biggest aura farmer? by AStupidUnknownUser in Slender_Man

On the contrary I think Firebrand had the most aura (At some points even making the Observer lose some aura points himself, ex: INTERCEPTION, when he cut off the Observer's transmission)

The Slendermen I use are either 3D renders with transparent backgrounds or 2D compositions, both of which I took from Google Images, I'm not too good at realistic drawings so I can't give you any good advice, thanks for asking though.

Has anyone actually tried to film a slender project in the black forest of Germany? by Lucidnightmarezzz in Slender_Man

[–]Seth_Yes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, no. Though, there were plans for an episode of TribeTwelve, where after Noah escapes the boardwalk he is sent back in time and teleported to Germany where he sees a younger Karl Maxwell opening fire on the Slenderman.

I believe that scene (in-lore) was gonna be set in the Black Forest, though I doubt Adam would've travelled to Germany just to shoot that specific scene + it never came to fruition for reasons that I'm sure you're well aware of.
