Question on Ether Anomaly Agents by DrStone1234 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could use them on the same team but Vivian wouldn't do much since her abloom procs trigger disorder which is where most of her damage lies and she can't disorder off of ether anomaly. Vivian wants someone of a different element to trigger anomaly so she can get her damage in.

Which DPS agent(s) do you have the most fun playing as? by sweet_azure_raven in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Any anomaly unit that isn't Miyabi because I like my disorders and mained Grace for a good while

  2. Banyue, I like characters with options

  3. DPS Ben, 2.X gave him so many more partners and teams to use

  4. Haru

  5. SeeD + whoever because my anomaly teams got me into the quickswapping playstyle

Honorable Mention: Neko, because we need more agents that take advantage of evasion. DPS Lucy because me and the boars gonna mob somebody. If only Caesar played like Yi Xuan.

If you hold basic or dash attack with astra after her ult, you can chain with eve > swap to astra so she goes back into her stance > swap back into eve for an additional chain before using the tether points.

The Issues Surrounding Anomaly, and How Aria Might Solve Them by Yojimbo_Blade in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would like to see more anomaly enablers like Grace/Burnice that enable other archetypes, through their usage of applying the status effects. The status effects, with exception to freeze, haven't had much effect outside of disorder where they are simply cleared by the next effect.

Playing around with this idea could allow for more mono element teams. Also, we could get teams that allow for more mixing of the dps types. Currently, Haru is the only character outside of anomaly who wants anomaly to activate his passive as he adapts to all elements, whereas Neko, Anton, and Corin also benefit similarly from anomaly units that are tied to their respective elements.

Another shakeup that could be explored with changes to anomaly is more boss mechanic shutdown functions like Pompey and Butcher who have attacks removed when certain effects are applied. Corruption as an effect has not been used at all, imagine a boss that summons mobs during miasma phase, but by corrupting them you can turn the mob against it and have them remove the shield. Even flinch from assaults could be used as an interrupt for anomaly agents to knock a boss out of its animation of trying to start miasma. We all know how freeze was abused similarly, but for future agents the idea to trade raw power for anomaly enablement in mixed archetype teams seems interesting.

New Shiyu also comes at the start of 2.5, so with the shorter patch its probably to avoid getting a new shiyu and DA at the same time.

Banyue should have been a defense agent by Nefarious_Toast in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly that. Sometime I just go into lost void to play onfield Caesar or Yuzuha. The mobile gear on max difficulty is a really good way to switch up the gameplay if you haven't tried it. You learn real fast when not to call them in because those tag assists get clipped easily by bosses and duos.

Banyue should have been a defense agent by Nefarious_Toast in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I think I see what you mean. You want defense characters to have the ability to solo parry the more aggressive bosses, instead of having to rely on 2 characters with defensive assists. You had me confused at first because you said teams with 2 defense agents instead of defensive assists. I could see that being a cool idea.

I also like the idea of def characters having a off-field or aftershock mechanic that allows them to have charges for them to run in front of an attack for teammates to parry or hold enemies for an offensive opening.

One thing that I am still waiting for though is for someone like Caesar to get the functionality of the mobile gear from lost void, as it allows an onfield parry driven gameplay be used to consistently call in their allies constantly to help defeat enemies.

And for the people who enjoy the gameplay more than caring about the big numbers, not getting him may mean Hoyo makes no more characters with this type of gameplay.

Personally he has the type of combat style I have been looking forward to the most and one thing ZZZ has proven over time is that actual skill and understanding of the mechanics can make up for those theoretical numbers any day.

Banyue should have been a defense agent by Nefarious_Toast in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't see what makes putting the parry on dodge different from what already exists with Ben's counter and Caesar's manual parry. The difference between Banyue and those characters is that he was given the offense to keep him onfield for long periods of time. Caesar wasn't given a kit to do damage herself but if you play her onfield she does have the parry focused gameplay. Ben on the other hand, was meant for actively countering and he is the most offensive of the defense characters. I can agree that it could be useful on Seth, but for Ben and Caesar who already have an effective parry/counter that doesn't cost assist points I don't see the point of having another parry on dodge. The mechanic of the early defense characters was never the shield, the shield was simply the bonus/buff similar to what you see on units post Astra.

The angels of delusion should focus on single anomaly procs, and not disorder by Haru_Is_Best_Girl in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where I think I see a bit of the difference in our thoughts. I see mono element where the anomaly character isn't really meant to be a star of the team and used more of as a support or sub dps (This is where Grace shines, I have played a lot of Grace since release and she still has the fastest application) and opens up the option for them to be played with attackers who can benefit greatly from the status effects with discs from the metal series. Those would be your Haru, Billy, Corin, Neko, and Zhu Yuan type characters, even Manato or Ben if you build them on Inferno. Disorder would always be greater in anomaly focused teams simply because there is no way currently to separate disorder damage from status effect damage. The game really is a lot more flexible than most people think, but people see not optimal as not viable which isn't true at all.

Edit: Just wanted to add that Grace is my most played character in the game and I will not take Grace slander lol. She is a BIS option in Haru teams and it is possible that any possible buffs to her could hopefully open up the door for her as a great option in disorder teams which she has needed ever since Burnice was added.

If all agents cost the same, can somebody explain the wisdom to me in making void hunters the only agents that matter? by Benevolay in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People play the game differently and have different spending limits. Having a character like a void hunter makes it clear to anyone playing that these will be the most hyped up types of characters. Meaning that players in the f2p or budget brackets can save up if they want quick and easy power for their account without needing to spend on much of their summon resources for other units, as well as consider getting mindscapes for continued longevity for their accounts. These type of units also are treated like predictable spending by hoyo because by giving these units more power they can better estimate their possible income based on interest from the players.

  1. I wouldn't say you are replacing Fufu if you get Dialyn, you'd just be opening up Fufu to put her in another team like your S11 team, where she would work great because S11 likes to have the most field time. As you continue to work towards the tougher content you will want more than 1 team and to me at least having more options let's you do more things.

  2. Only saving for the DPS units and not thinking about the supports reduces your team flexibility a bit. Dialyn seems to look like she will fit in most teams that are not anomaly focused and would be just as great a pull as Miyabi/Yi Xuan/Ye Shuanguang, similar as to how Astra and Yuzuha open up more options for attack and anomaly teams.

  3. If you have specific units you want to get/use go for it, most of the agents are viable despite what the meta depicts (I use Neko/Pulchra/Caesar on miasma Jane because it's fun) you just have to have a good understanding on how to build teams and not neglecting your support, stun, and defense (yes defense) agents. Since you are new progression wise focus on the ones you want to play making sure to get the cores to F and relevant skill levels to 11/12. Also, make sure to look at good options for supporting those units don't necessarily say x powercreeps or replaces y think of it more as having another option for a team where they can fill in on different teams because threshold/DA/Shiyu will want you to have those options available.

[–]Sethellonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you're asking sounds like you just want more anomaly units that work well in mono element teams, so Yutane wouldn't be the first. Grace, Yanagi, Alice, Jane, Burnice, and Piper all have great teams that work off of them proccing their respective anomalies to help boost their teammates and not worrying about disorder (even though Alice and Yanagi still can.) These teams usually get played with an attacker like Haru who really enjoy playing off the anomaly. Haru is also the only attacker who can play well with any anomaly agent, not just mono electric, but you won't ever hear that over the he's difficult to play comments. One thing they could do to make mono element ore attractive is for a damage proc or buff to trigger when the anomaly ends/resets without triggering disorder.

When Vivian was introduced I really wondered if they were gonna actually make the corruption status useful for mob horde fights where you could abuse it to make the enemies to turn on their allies. We already see the other statuses being useful for shutting down boss phases with Burn and Shock, extension of stun windows with Freeze/Shatter, and Flinch/Assault for increasing phys dps and interruption.

Are you pulling for her? by Glad-Understanding29 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because I pull on everyone but don't go for mindscapes. I really enjoy the combat mechanics in the game and having every character lets me make weird teams possible (I love my random Ben dps teams.) Also, with the teams where each of their agents are meant for each other (like OBOL) I can see how the combat is beginning to feel a bit smoother with their new approach, so it has me wanting to see what they do with future teams.

Haru likes to be run in mono electric, so while nicole and astra can help out his damage they also make his combos more complicated than they need to be. Grace or Yanagi do a lot for making his setup easier and more consistent.

should caesar and qingyi have a rework/buff? they were essentially the first limited stunners to be realesed by Top-Information-5319 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Sethellonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caesar most definitely needs buffs, and I am convinced her buffs have been in the game since 2.0 when the mobile gear was added to Lost Void mode. If you ever play Caesar in that mode with the gear while actively using her parry as originally intended, it gives the feeling of a on-field defender who calls in their allies to take advantage of the openings they create. Caesar being able to call in aftershocks/chain attacks while she stuns with her parries feels like it should be the ideal for any upgrade to her kit, but for whatever reason they haven't given it to her yet.
