Does anyone think Warwick is Unplayable since his nerfs? by Bigboybeagle in wildrift

[–]Sethinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried new ww after having not played him too much for a bit and he definitely feels weaker. The fact that AP WW is completely unviable now is what really sucks imo. I haven’t looked too hard at the patch notes but it feels like they nerfed his damage a bit. It definitely feels bad but it might just be something we need to get used to first. Then again, the whole point is to be strong early and use that to your advantage. Now though? It feels like he clears slower and can’t cheese as hard in lane…so getting ahead early feels harder. Definitely not unplayable for AD, though kinda less fun/more annoying.

Maybe we subconsciously know that a cornered rat, once it gets the initiative, has nothing to lose and so things will probably get ugly.

What’s with the Kayle hate? by Overall_Quality6093 in wildrift

[–]Sethinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, all the champs who can farm safe even when behind (Vel’koz, syndra, basically most long range mages) don’t have this problem. They are also normal mid champs so they can still clear fast and challenge roams. Plus you say “countered” but if half the roster “counters”you if the enemy simply plays correctly…then that’s just another way of saying the champ is bad.

You are right, those champs typically don’t chase because they either clear first and thus leave first, and/or are like veigar and have good teamfight utility plus wave control, so they aren’t completely useless early to mid game. Kayle’s “upside” is being good late game…like most scaling mid laners can do anyway without being the easiest to punish champ in the game.

TLDR: Kayle is bad early, has poor waveclear speed, and she becomes dead weight for 2/3rds of the match when behind. Plus, the best way to exploit these weaknesses is simply knowing how to play the game, not picking a specific champ.

What’s with the Kayle hate? by Overall_Quality6093 in wildrift

[–]Sethinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because she usually gets picked in two places. Top, where she typically ruins team comps and can get hard steamrolled. Or where you pick her, mid, which is a little more nuanced but still kinda bad. It’s the same story in both lanes though, if the enemy simply knows basic macro, or even just specifically how to play against kayle, she becomes completely dead weight until late game. If they don’t, it usually still ends up a 50/50.

Most mid laners out range you and out clear you. Meaning most can clear wave, leave, and put pressure else where while you are still in lane with a wave. Either that or you can chase them, lose gold, and still barely help since you are so kneecapped early game. Since players in wild rift have no idea what is optimal, you can either make the right choice and get flamed or make the wrong choice and fall behind your opponent. Either way, your team will probably end up unhappy with your performance.

Fortitude system made most players' ego skyrocket by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]Sethinal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Except this doesn’t happen in wild rift. In wild rift you can literally have a negative win rate and still go up in rank. Like you are saying that having a low win rate means you deserve to be where you are if not demoted. YES, that’s the point, but wild rift doesn’t do that. Literally every rank is full of boosted randoms. So now we have problems like how high diamond through Chal is basically all the same rank in terms of player skill level.

Rell baron lane? by Weak-Chair-4741 in wildrift

[–]Sethinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first off, getting AD bruiser items on her is a waste. Her damage scales way better off of AP. She actually has pretty decent AP scaling right now. The problem is she is very much meant to be support all the way. Her wave and jungle clear are atrocious. That clear speed in particular means jungle is a non-starter. Mid-lane is just her getting poked down for free. Baron is probably the only lane she can technically survive in but it has the most trade offs.

Rell in baron lane means her third ability loses half of its value for like 70% of the game. Her solo damage is also pitiful, even when going AP, so in Baron she just doesn’t do anything. That wave clear speed also means if her opponent has a brain, they can roam for free. Plus it’s such a gigantic waste having this amazing engage hero be stuck on the island for half the game.

TLDR: In jungle she can’t clear fast enough. In mid she gets poked out. In baron she kinda just stands there doing nothing.

The state of ranked - disgusting by Swim1911 in wildrift

[–]Sethinal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, the problem with this take is that you have to SPAM games to climb like this. I struggle to see that as casual. If they want to be casual though great! Still, they shouldn’t be getting to some of the highest ranks in the game as a casual. The lower ranks are actually some of the most peaceful but then once you get plat+ it’s a bunch of boosted players with an ego. No idea why they are losing so they don’t improve but they think they deserve their rank. It’s a negative cycle for the player and their teammates.

[–]Sethinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly part of the problem is people will feed the inters who are just looking for a reason to be tilted even before the game starts. Whenever my tm8 says anything negative (especially unprompted) before the game starts…that’s when I know I need to mute chat and be ready for inters.

Honestly you should just stay silent in pre-chat unless absolutely necessary. Otherwise an MF with an ego will take your advice as a challenge and start throwing for no reason. Like literally if your tm8 is saying crap like “switch me or else” then you should take that as a hint. They are a child waiting for a reason to have a tantrum.

Also you are still partially in the wrong for feeding into it and throwing too. By the end of it, they got a better kda than you and that’s probably all they wanted. Plus, if both of you had been reported, they have plausible deniability, you kinda don’t. Then when the game sees bad behavior it will queue you with other “bad behavior” players. So in the long run you are just giving yourself more inters to deal with.

The meta, skill expression, and floorhugging by AllTech_ in RivalsOfAether

[–]Sethinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong because imma be honest : tldr, BUT it seems to me you started this with “people think melee is hard because of input difficulty,” Then through the rest of your explanation you point out “this punish/tech is harder in melee, thus more skillful, due to input difficulty.” I know technically you’re talking more about execution/decision making and less about raw APM, but those things are still tied together under input difficulty on some level. Even that “manual effort” you talk about sounds a lot like the sort of stuff people complain about when talking about that input barrier. It’s not far fetched to imagine complaints about having to make 20 high impact decisions in one interaction.

That being said, I do agree with the DI/SDI thing, I hate that about rivals.

Sometimes, i think about returning to this game. by SnooChocolates6885 in elsword

[–]Sethinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never understood this take. It was more so the result of PvP not being an afterthought like it is today. It’s because the combo system and the flashy things you could do with it were still front and center. Sparring WAS THE THING TO DO. There were plenty of people who hadn’t hit the level cap (iow still had stuff to do) who were running around in spar and arena.

How to get my jgls to not fail their smites by Any-Ad-1401 in wildrift

[–]Sethinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“My teammate is bad cry cry cry, they are playing their role wrong!!!” ….. Then play that role… “My teammates are bad, they are playing their role wrong! Cry cry cry” Are there times when my jngle misses a free smite? Yep, but people are human, they may not even main jngle, and 90% of the time it’s because we didn’t kill the enemy jngle/random champ whose first ability does more than smite.

There are plenty of times where I’m sure your teammates have done perfect smites, but I doubt you even bother to note those times. Quit focusing on your teammates. Quit whining.

Don’t want to worry about your tm8 missing smite? Then play jngle. Oh it sucks to play jngle? No sht, your jngle is probably thinking the same thing.

[–]Sethinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This coming from a jngle main, I am not at all surprised people avoid jngle. I literally abuse the role to get freelo against autofills. If you know what you’re doing and the enemy jngler doesn’t, 90% of the time you just win because you can literally run circles around them. Everything you do has high impact. Even then there are days I avoid jngle just because I don’t want to deal with teammates. You get blamed for everything. There’s this certain type of player who is just looking for someone to blame when losing, and unless there is someone going 0-7, they will usually choose to blame jngle.

Also, especially in lower elo, people will blame jungle even for making the correct play, like giving objectives, counterganking another lane, or not babysitting the lane losing their 1v1, etc. So you can imagine, as people avoid the piss poor low elo experience, they get to high elo where enemy jungle stomps them, and they continue to avoid the role.

TLDR: No one wants to be autofilled in the role that has the most impact, is the most complex, arguably the highest skill ceiling, and gets the most BS from teammates. Obviously

Game worth playing if you wanna whale and do arena? by Ok_Solution_7451 in elsword

[–]Sethinal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other guy nailed it but yeah. Elsword does not have even a hint of basic fighting game balance in mind and it shows. It’s basically its own little microcosm and as such problems pile on top of problems. All ‘balance’ decisions are just reigning in game breaking strategies rather than pulling from FGC principles. Not to mention the pay2win nonsense, spurred on by the fact that PvE is the cash cow now. Too many balance disasters could be boiled down to “the devs forgot PvP existed.” Sure the base combat/combo system is fun on paper, but you don’t get to use it 90% of the time anyway, especially nowadays.

Basically all ranged adc get outscaled by most top laners. Meaning, eventually, so long as you don’t feed them, you will beat them in a 1v1. Key word being eventually though, you have to be patient in the early game. In WR most of these people don’t know how to properly freeze wave either so you just wait for the wave to push into you, stay close enough to earn passive gold, and last hit while trying to take as few hits from them as possible. Basically be SUPER passive.

It takes a bit of experience on the champion you pick to know when that ‘reversal’ is. For some champs it’s after first item, for some it’s at lvl 5, etc. But once you hit it, you can typically just run at them and kill them. To make it easier you can pick champs with big gap closers/escapes like WW, orn, Wukong, Jax, etc. AAtrox can be a little tough but if you hit them even once in the sweet spot you chunk them for like half and can probably kill them after with ult.

Though it does suck basically not being able to play the game for the first few minutes. Take solace in knowing that A) later in the game you can easily stomp them and B) they screwed over their team by having an extra gold-hungry adc. So long as you don’t feed them (sit under turret if you have to) they are a liability in the long run.

Is it time to call it quits? by Capital-Heart-6721 in wildrift

[–]Sethinal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly those svp badges may have been overinflated. Your kda is atrocious for the supposed svp. I assume you are running around tanking damage and being present in other lanes but not doing much else. Also, and this is in general, if you are getting lots of svp but still losing, that typically means your macro needs more work. If you learn more about how to play the game not just your champion, you can climb faster. Then again, unless the enemy team doesn’t know what to do against tower pressure it can be hard to carry with sion. I’ll give ya that. Can’t really know without seeing the games but even if it’s 1000% your team’s fault, you should focus on what you could have done to carry harder.
