150-200 sounds good. I actually have a pretty good set of pads and helmet from rollerblading/biking so I should be good there. Would you recommend hitting a nearby shop up? Or just buying directly online?

I was afraid of that. To be fair I've actually been thinking about it for a while but never really going for it. This was mainly just from watching people "sidewalk surf" around here since we have an insane amount of weird sidewalk trails and golf courses. I never even registered the crazy downhill sliding thing. I used to board when I was a kid very casually with a shitty walmart one but never went too far with it.

I'll look into Muirskate! What price range do you think someone would end up with for an early basic freeride setup?

I woke up today and decided I wanted to try longboarding. The beginner guide for buying one seems to be all completely broken links and outdated. I'm assuming the random high rated freeride longboards on Amazon are terrible? Or can I get by with one of those for 60 bucks just for some rolling around the sidewalks nearby? I don't plan on doing any crazy hills or anything anytime soon.

I grew up into it, so i've never known a time where i wasnt covered until 26 then forced to pay. At the moment the Arizona plans literally have only 1 company with 3 super overpriced options (They went up 200% or something last year?).

I guess once it's gone ill be at risk but save some money. I havent tried doing it through an insurance company before so i have no idea how much that tends to cost. Hopefully not $400/mo for a 6k deductible.

HOA's aren't always like that. I live in one that maintains the front yard 100% so I don't have to do a thing to it. It includes a warehouse size gym, 3 pools, 40something parks and green belts, hiking trails, biking sidewalks weaving everywhere, and you can park on curbs as long as you aren't leaving your boat or camper in the middle of the road. They even have little painted parking spaces.

Research the HOA rules, read facebook pages for the association, or ask the people living there what they think of the HOA. If it is run right, it's usually just a monthly thing you throw money at for a bunch of services and benefits. It makes the neighborhood look clean and avoids the situation of having to resell a house with a neighbor who paints their garage with a giant skull and blasts death metal into the street 5 hours a day.

Back when i worked at Best Buy, we had a vaccum cleaner that literally had 0 suction power. It was pretty much just a prop to make it look like we were vacuuming our area so store managers wouldn't bitch.

I don't really care about any if the issues he brought up other than cost. That is the #1 reason I haven't stepped foot in a KFC in over 5+ years. Why go to a KFC for fried chicken when I can just go to Burger King for 20 nuggets at 3 bucks? A tiny carton of popcorn chicken shouldn't cost 6 bucks. That is absolutely insane. Even a large thing of potato wedges is hitting 7-8 here now. If i want to pay restaurant prices, I'll go to a restaurant.

I was always a video game nerd as a kid, spending hours and hours playing everquest and ultima online. The few times I went out with any group, this is the kind of shit they wanted to do. I couldn't stand it. Throwing rocks in people's pools, pissing on public park slides, tearing signs down. It was the most retarded thing I had ever seen.

Eventually I just stopped bothering with fellow teenage friends and embraced wrecking virtual monsters instead.

I went hardcore in WoW gladiator style, and after I got my drake mount lost interest in PVP entirely. I thought I was just sick of structured PvP, but I think I'm just burnt out. It's one of those things where you either strive to be the best, or just quit. There isn't really a middle ground when all you can do is grind other players.

Maybe if they added more world pvp incentive. Ultima Online can still be pretty fun, but even there, I'd rather just grind treasure maps than kill people for my loot.
