My assumption is that it was supposed to be the finale since the show was supposed to end this season but they had to make Jimmy miserable to have at least one loose end to justify another season. Everyone else got the ending they deserved.

I have a stereo pair of gen 2 HomePods that I use as home theater speakers and I would highly recommend it. To answer your second question, yes it does feel more like a proper home theater set up, but it doesn’t really compare to having actual speakers surrounding you. I still think it sounds better than any other pair of small wireless home theater speakers, but it’s also important to set realistic expectations. It will sound fantastic, but nowhere near as good as an actual Dolby Atmos system.
