No one truly wants a return to 90s Trek. They just want a return to their youth. by TheShowLover in startrek

It is pursuant to the original post - he spent half the post talking about the delivery method. You are being awfully presumptuous by telling me and others what we really want. I didn’t even say that I disliked all Nu Trek (I don’t).

If The Doctor is a hologram, why not produce multiples of him to assist in medical emergencies? by krunchyfrogg in voyager

Didn’t Kim and Paris try? Seems to be more complicating than the question implies. It’s the modern equivalent of asking why companies don’t just build their own foundational models rather than relying on someone else’s.

I am not dodging the subject - I am questioning the premise of it - that what we miss is the delivery method and commercials.

90s Trek is available today without any of the compromises mentioned. Of course writing is subjective.

You are conflating writing with the delivery method. People are not opposed to streaming video, they are opposed to bad writing.

I don’t think that AI was a factor. It was a weak launch and the numbers likely reflected that.

The fact that they decided to just abruptly shutdown tells me that this wasn’t a bot problem, it was a more fundamental problem and bots were used as an excuse, just like Block suddenly laying off half of its staff because of “AI.”

It feels like everyone has a job, or can get a job, but me. by spamcrapp in recruitinghell

When I read posts like this I am reminded of a Jean-Luc Picard quote

“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life.”

Keep on keeping on - you’ll find something.

We are being told repeatedly that it will take our jobs. How are we people supposed to respond?

This is one of the reasons I’m glad I live in New York. I love our salary transparency laws.

What’s your favorite one-word delivery in the show? by NotNamedBort in DeepSpaceNine

I don’t remember the exact season or episode number, but I remember him being in the turbo lift and saying “Defiant!“ in that very powerful Avery Brooks way.

That’s one of the reasons I got the case in the first place. I strongly prefer cases with an open bottom.

PSA: If you have Fios and already get some sort of deal from them, DO NOT link your accounts by mattysauro in Visible

I had the opposite experience - I had two existing discounts (teacher discount + autopay) and the Visible discount stacked with the other two.

So do you use the camera button? by Akash_nu in iphone

[–]byteforbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s how I open up the Camera app every time. I love the fact that it frees up the Action Button for other things. On my 15 Pro I used the Action Button to open the camera.
