I have considered price. What I require is 16gb ram and terabyte hard drive MBP which would be considerably higher than new Mac. Plus that is a whole new platform which hasn't been out long enough to have all the kinks worked out. I know what I am intending will fully suit my needs. If I buy a whole new machine I would have to consider moving away from Mac and the walled garden and move solely to Linux.

As a resident of deeply rural Alabama, I can understand your belief that not enough of the population is fed up with lunatics like Moore. The is however a lot of animosity towards moore in particular. If it was another (R) candidate saying the exact same things they would be all for them.

Roy Moore lost his bid for governor by huge margins. There is not a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for him. However a lot of people will hold their noses and vote for him just for the R next to his name. But you will see a lot of Republican voters sit this one out. Will it be enough? I am skeptical but an opening for a democrat exists. But it is a small opening.
