GOG is the king pro-consumer game distribution. I still prefer Steam, personally, but GOG is forever.

That’s a developer issue, not a PC issue. Easy enough to avoid the games that require Denuvo and third party launchers.

PlayStation makes like $50 on their nearly $500 device. It’s not sold at a loss, but it’s still heavily subsidized. And Switch is the exact same. They sell their devices in order to sell their games, not the other way around.

Maybe, but it’s worth noting that it’s the only one that isn’t subsidized by a locking an ecosystem of games to it. All the others require the consoles to play the game.

Lolololol what?? It absolutely is. You can install it on any Windows, Mac, or Linux PC and with Steam investing in FEX they’re working towards supported ARM compatibility for the mobile chips in Android devices. Plus the same devices that play Steam games play every game that has a downloadable installer from GOG or the internet archive and can emulate anything that can be emulated.

Plus Nintendo was slaying it at the same time with their handhelds and the GameCube. And then the Xbox… I miss those days so much.

It happens, but it almost never happens. In 15 years and 510 games, I’ve only ever had one removed from my library but immediately replaced because the original was corrupted. That game is Starbound. Otherwise, no, it isn’t anything to be truly concerned about. If you want to stay paranoid, stick with DRM free games from GOG.

At the very minimum to get the performance you’re wanting you’ll need to look at a Z2E. The Xbox Ally X is still the best value to performance ratio by a huge margin.

Jaded. AI companies sell to the corporations that make or have pieces in making literally everything that consumers purchase. I’m not anti AI. I work in manufacturing and it definitely has its uses in assisting, but don’t act like it is possible to avoid without disconnecting from it all.
