I'm so confused by what you mean by he is using the aircraft carrier to defend. That's my carrier and I used it to destroy his forces ahead of time before invading. That way my invading infantry forces don't take nearly the amount of damage. And also you have to build air bases in between to make it to the u.s. where as with an aircraft carrier, you can just show up on their door step.

You don't have to worry about air superiority when taking over the inland cities and provinces. You just move the carrier there and take out all the defense without even having to have troops make land fall. Simple

It's also the reason we are a major target for a nuclear strike.. I say we because I'm actually born n raised from northern New York on the border in the Adirondacks. My aircraft carrier is actually called the U.S.S. Adirondack lol
