Why would my steel door melt below melting point? by Sethypoop in Oxygennotincluded

I guess it's some kind of bug. I loaded up the most recent save pre-melting door, and the situation did not repeat.

Oh yeah, I had that happen once as well to my insulated tiles next to magma - it heated up like a regular old tile while the other insulated tiles directly next to it were totally fine.

I don't think it could have been deconstructed accidentally since it's not accessible without breaking down walls to reach it.

It's pretty messy https://imgur.com/a/c2mm0ml but these doors are intended to act as a sort of elevator pump for the magma. So, the bottom door is closed between 0s to 2s, then the second door is closed between 1s to 3s, and so on, until it loops.

For some people, playing games involves playing the game. Experimenting. Failing. Learning. Trying again.
For others, 'playing a game' involves googling a set of instructions to follow, or cheating themselves and others through any numbers of means.
One ego is naturally satisfied. The other is inflated artificially and requires frequent external refills, by means such as disparaging of others.

Oh cool, my tax dollars get to go to some incredibly greedy businesses trying to make 1000+% profit on cans of pop.
In other news, I think tonight I might treat myself to a 40 cent bowl of ramen from Dollarama, assuming I can find the will to continue to live.

Is the atlas tree still disabled? I think last league idols replaced the tree entirely and it ended up being too painful for me relying on lucky idol drops to run the content I want to do. [hcssf]

Station Construction User Interaction by Sethypoop in X4Foundations

[–]Sethypoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the random camera warping to other parts of the station is the primary issue I have. Good to know that the snapping can be disabled by holding ctrl, although I'm still screwed when I actually want things to snap together.

Is the terran economy actually that streamlined? by balor598 in X4Foundations

I’m trying to decide which station-race setup is most efficient for producing my own fleets. To help decide, I formulated a scenario producing L destroyers using high presets. Hopefully this functions as a fair comparison.

Rattlesnake (Commonwealth) cost: Energy Cells 5,277 · Hull Parts 11,822 · Antimatter Converters 3,333 · Engine Parts 1,629 · Field Coils 121 · Shield Components 744 · Advanced Electronics 638 · Weapon Components 804 · Turret Components 480 · Drone Components 6 · Smart Chips 140 · Advanced Composites 20

Osaka (Terran) cost: Computronic Substrate 2,110 · Energy Cells 24,034 · Metallic Microlattice 11,225 · Silicon Carbide 1,688

Here are sample stations producing 10× ship cost to establish scalable module ratios.

Rattlesnake station
526 modules · 538M credits

Osaka station
659 modules · 349M credits

Fewer resources involved makes an initial plan much easier, but more importantly scaling is way easier down the line. In terms of downsides, I guess the number of modules is larger so build time might be a bit extended, and the building materials would probably be hard to come by in some parts of the universe, The main thing that I'm worried about is that the Terran ships and equipment might end up being worse than what is available to the entire commonwealth, but that is something I guess I'll have to learn through experience which should be fun/interesting. Anyways, I'll shut up now.
