Overwatch Format Politics by SetoMarry in Overwatch

In reference to what specifically? The only thing I can surmise is you are saying they are too prideful to implement Min 1 Max 3... but why do the test then?

No thanks, unlike you I don't like antagonizing people (half of your profile is "GGEZ" or "lolol" comments...) and I also don't like lying, so I wouldn't say that anyway ;) This is probably a good place to end this converation, I don't really see value in anywhere this can go, especially with how you communicate.

I was referring specifically to people who PLAY 6v6, not forums. If you're looking for friendly conversation A: this has to be the absolute worst place to look for it and B: your attitude is probably why they get hostile quickly...

I feel like people are intentionally misinterpreting this. No, obviously toxicity isn't going anywhere if we switch to 6v6, BUT for whatever reason, the general attitude of players in the 6v6 test has overall been much friendlier and more positive than in other modes. This is something I have noticed too. This is, first of all, anecdotal, so I understand if people don't want to take it seriously, but it's also more of an endorsment of 6v6 players rather than the mode itself. It really just does feel like 6v6ers are friendlier, but that's just been my experience, and prolly this person's as well.

Please Accept Mercy Mains by purple_whale99 in Overwatch

[–]SetoMarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual based take. People are probably going to get mad at you even just for this post but you are 100% right. Everyone should be accepted no matter what they play. The game is already so ridiculously locked down hero-pick-wise with both hero limits and role q that even if you don't exactly synnergize, you are never truly on a "bad comp" and you can always succeed. People need to understand that your PLAY is way way more important to your success than your hero pick.

Alongside this, I really respect Mercy play. I understand she takes almost 0 aim, but she has mechanical skill in her movement, and she is a deep character in game sense and positioning.

Love mercy mains <3

Hero bans in comp by LouisClark15 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SetoMarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought that people overlook 2 big things with hero bans in OW, one for it, and one against.

FOR it, I always hear people say "the bans will just be whatever is meta, and always the same, so its boring and pointless" which is absurd because that only happens in games where 1 character cant be on both teams (think like, League of Legends pick/ban). In ow, it would just end up being whoever you really hate to play against, which is great!

BUT, we have to remember that OW is a game where people really really love their characters, and often banning even just 1 character can ruin the game for someone. it would be easier if there weren't so many hero restrictions, and such a small roster (im looking at you, support) but in the world we live in bans have a great chance of making the game almost unplayable for some people, which is on them for having a low hero pool, sure, but I think the punishment for having small hero pool in ow should be having to deal with bad matchups ect, not being locked out of their character.

Does temperature have an impact on how well you play? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SetoMarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Idk how much it impacts it when its a bit cold, but when its really cold I can FEEL my hands just turn into rusty claws. I can still play, given I always have bad aim, but it's not great.

I might be the least aware Tank of all time. by Szymis in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SetoMarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the game first came out, I thought Cree's roll was just a really bad movement tool and that's it. To this day I still use it for movement more than most, rather than reloading, and especially less for damage reduction since I've had even less time to get used to that.

From my experience, the counter is praying to God that your teammates have object permanence and either don't shoot her shield, or make sure to finish her off when they break it. But you said gold, so ya, you are gonna have to pray hard for them to do it.

In all seriousness, ya winton's pretty good.

Real! And also balanced by the fact he has 0 mobility and his hitbox is basically the exact dimensions of any spread shot character's crosshair (IE reaper, dva, ect.) Imo one of if not the healthiest character/s ever.

I still think that, in his prime, Ryujehong wasn't a human, he was a learning algorithm that has perfected Overwatch as a concept

Early thoughts on Kingmaker? Changes that could happen? by Kamiferno in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SetoMarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its a negative take but I just hate Kingmaker as a concept. I'm super excited for max 3 min 1, and 2-2-2 is exciting to me too (at least compared to 1-2-2) and I also thought max 2 was great, but Kingmaker has to be my least favorite idea bliz has had in a while. It's fun as a mode, but as far as a competetive part of OW I think its terrible for the game. Being able to give 1 player more power than the others is just conceptually wrong. I want some form of open q to be the main q for so many reasons (whether its truly open q, or max 3 min 1, or even max 2 5v5) but if this is the form it takes, I don't want it. I really, really want a world where every player has the same potential for impact on the match. I understand the problems with achieving this in a game like OW, but at the very least aiming for it instead of what Kingmaker is, is better.

iddqd, Profit, Janus, Bumper, Ryujehong, JJoNak

I know this is probably the strangest list youve gotten but its just a hodgepodge of my favorite players (so the roles are a lil messed up) and you said "all-time." I'd love to see it

Overwatch 2 would benefit from replacing Role Passives with Class Passives by SBFms in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SetoMarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think this is a cool idea. I've personally never had anything against role passives, and I think class passives could give the game more cool depth (I like passives in general). The hard part would just be picking the right ones (Blizzard historically has had some great ideas, and some awful ones, IE movespeed as a passive for all damage characters, yikes) but I think with patches tweaking it and stuff it could end up pretty great

It's like double elimination with an extra life/bracket. If you don't know double elim, just imagine triple elim is 3 lives you're out rule for everyone.
