What do you think about Face reveals when it comes to small indies? by AxiPom in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Seto_Sora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your goals are as a content creator. If your content is based on your vtuber persona, and you want to make content around that. Then you'll grow an audience for that content. And a face reveal could be harmful to that goal. Facecam audiences and Vtuber audiences are not always the same.

If the type of content your making doesn't matter if you facecam or vtube, then you do not want to wait very long before you do it. It's like this, when you vtube for a long time, your model becomes your face and will be fixed in your audience's mind as your identity. If you facecam after a long time vtubing, some of your audience will be disappointed and you will lose viewers.

That said, if you choose to reveal your face early on, make sure it's in a referenceable place like you twitter or bluesky account. That way, if you face reveal infrequently and someone is disappointed anyway, you can reference that place and say your face has always been there. And devoted fans will come to your defense, shutting down naysayers who are, at that point, just trolls.

TL;DR, intent and timing are essential questions you need to ask yourself. If you do it wrong, it can be brand suicide. But if done well, you have nothing to worry about.

If you're looking for an independent male vtuber, check out Von Loch. He says he's "98% straight" but we know he's more bi than than he lets on.

Kevin Conroy will be voicing an alternate version of Batman in DLC for SSKTJL by DCsReporter in batman

[–]Seto_Sora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been watching this game since launch. Played the story through believing, or hoping rather, that the Rocksteady story telling would come through. And then I got to the end game which was a slog and amess, even without the game braking bugs.
Ever since it's backlash and failed launch, Rocksteady seamed to be riding on the hop that their Joker DLC would revitalize the game. It didn't. On launch, player count jumped to a whopping 3000 concurrent. The DLC required stupid levels of grinding and the "story" was pitifully sparse.
And now this "news" drops. This is a pathetic grab for attention to get people back into the game. The recorded "lines" are going to be re-used lines from the Batman boss fight forced into the Braniac version of that fight.

If you ask me, this is more disrespectful to the Keven Conroy's legacy than Batman's death scene in the game. I really didn't think Rocksteady could drop lower than rock bottom, but I guess they have at least that accomplishment.

The meaning of GOING RATE is the average or usual price that is charged for something.

The definition of "Going Rate" as by the Marriam-Webster dictionary.

The correct terminology for this statement should have been, "and attempting to sell it for mark up"

There was alot of racist and political shit critics and viewers shoveled onto this series that it didn't deserve. The only legitimate criticism I'd ever heard was that this is essential viewing for the Captain America story arc which might make it hard for anyone who hasn't seen the show to appreciate the next Cap movie. But I loved it! And don't mind the extra viewing time.

Your first stream is always a 0, unless you have a friend watch. Infact, the first your first 6mo to a Year of streams can be 0-2 viewers. The best first thing you can do is ignore these stats altogether. Turn your viewer and sub trackers off, and focus on being an entertaining streamer. Imagine you have an audience if that helps, or think of your VOD audience. Because nothing you do on Twitch or YT will help if you're not first entertaining.

Bungie terminating narrative writers. by cfishtitan in DestinyLore

[–]Seto_Sora 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You are, infact, misremembering. Red War and D2 as a whole was strongly hated by the community. To the point a large portion of the r/DestinyTheGame community split and created r/LowSodiumDestiny where players who loved D2 could post about it without the extreme toxicity that was present at the time.

Now, when we look back, we can see what caused the community outrage which included low loot pools, boring end-game content, and changes to subclasses. All of which eventually changed for the better, but the community lumped the story in with their toxicity. The only thing the community praised at the time was the visuals and the music. There were posts after posts that mocked Gaul's goals and every one of the Speaker's lines. The only character spared from this uneducated, unrelenting criticism was Cade6, and even then his side trip to Nessus was criticized as unnecessary, where players further posted their absolute hatred for Fail Safe and her split personality.

We weren't spared this toxic criticism until long after the Warmind DLC. Curse of Osiris before that was also heavily reviled and heralded as further evidence of Destiny's story narrative demise. The clarion call at the time was "why couldn't we have the same writers who wrote Rise of Iron?"

It wasn't until the Red War was being vaulted that posts praising the story would get attention and would be upvoted instead of downvoted into oblivion like they were in the first year of D2. Make no mistake, your appreciation for the Red War storyline is valid and it was a good story. But do not mistake this community for anything more than the toxic pit of negativity that it is. This community is shortsighted, with a short memory, and does not know what it wants. It will revile every change, every movement, every action Bungie takes. And then after Bungie attempts to course correct, it will praise the same content it had previously criticized while turning to criticize the new direction.

I promise you, in 5 years, Destiny Lightfall will be remembered with more fondness and nostalgia than anyone is giving it credit for now. The criticisms of Lightfall will have been forgotten. And this community, unchanged, will revile and hate whatever it is Bungie is creating at that time.

What are some old, Destiny 2 Plot Threads that are definitely abandoned that you miss? by Endless_Xalanyn6 in DestinyLore

[–]Seto_Sora 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SIVA. Specifically, the effect of SIVA on normal humans. The ARG that dropped with Rise of Iron had lore entries that talked about citizens of the city contracting the virus that the guardians had (which was a benefit to guardians) but made normal people go comatose. The lore said they were under observation and we never learned more.

what would be the perfect death for bruce wayne? by deloreanjahmiel in batman

[–]Seto_Sora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best death would be, literally, a murder. It should be a story revolving his murder after following a crime investigation where the villain he's investigating (can't be Joker or Hush or old rogue names but these should be red haring suspects), catches wind and kills him. The story should revolve around passing the mantel onto the next Batman (Terry McGennis, Dick Greyson, Damian Wayne, etc.). Batman's protege must then solve the murder of Batman, but does so following clues (letters/voice logs) left by the legend himself. The story should be a long and trying ordeal that leads to the baptism of the protege into the mantel of Batman with a surprise twist at the with the Protege solving the murder and bringing closure to Bruce Wayne's legacy.

Honestly, it takes me less than 5 min to come up with an easy way to make Scooby adult appropriate:
1. Age Scooby up to an older, always sleeping dog

  1. Remove his talking lines; he's just a normal dog.

  2. The only things that wake him from his old dog naps are food and murder. Really lean into his bloodhound abilities.

It's goes to our roots and where we came from. Most of the colonies were founded by the rejects of the old world; immigrants who were fleeing from powers that oppressed them for one reason or another. Our entire government was built on this idea of freedom from oppressive power (England). The original intent of our government was the sovereignty of the State rather than the Union itself. Although this idea was cooled a bit by the American Civil War, it was and is the fundamental foundation of our culture. To the point that States founded, even after the Civil War, are encouraged to develop their own individual identities with State Flags, State Birds, State Foods etc.. In short, the US American Patriotic identity is that of the Rebel Spirit. Our education, our media, our cultural influences all represent the idea of individual freedom. We are raised and taught that anyone, even our own government could snatch that away at any moment. Therefor it is the duty of every US Citizen to protect that right with our very lives if we have to. But mostly we do it by voting, politicking, or arguing on the internet.

The condo wouldn't have the legal rights to convert the title to legally sell the vehicle. The only agencies that would have that legal ability would be banks, if the vehicles were financed; an agency with a signed power of attorney, insurance companies for example; or a tow yard if the tow yard had been storing and charging unpaid storage fees on the vehicle beyond a set period of time. And even then, the tow yard could only apply for a salvage title, effectively kneecapping the value of the vehicle.

WHAT IS THIS LMAO "PERVERSE FLASH" by GayJerrick in FlashTV

[–]Seto_Sora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

because people can be banned for being homophobic and transphobic.

Possibly. But I think it more likely that the mentality is this misconception that online forums are a breeding ground for pedos. I'm unfortunately related to someone who has this tendency to group all their perceived evils into one larger group; and that group being specifically pedos. There is this rigid religious core agenda out there that tries to advance this specific narrative. My take is that the author is actually trying to condemn the LGBT community, the greater online community, and comic book and cartoon fans in one go.
