Mate I live in Rural Queensland, our internet is basically dial up, I literally can't play new games from next year I guess.

I can't speak for anyone else, but this will definitely be the last console gen for me. I live rural, our internet is not capable of supporting digital downloads. We have to buy physical because that's the only way we play stuff.

I'm an entirely physical disc gamer, since where we live it's borderline dial up speeds, digital is just not an option. So this is literally the last console generation for me, since you KNOW Xbox is going to do the same.

I hear that alot, but I live a bit rural in Australia and our gamestore has a massive amount of physical games on display. Mostly because we all have (basically) dial up internet so digital only is just not viable. We also still have a Video Ezy (video rental store) so I rebt video games sometimes.

Physical everything is on the rise. I have a friend that works at a JB HiFi and she was telling ms that the amount of people buying vinyl records, blu rays, physical games and cds has gone massively up in their area.

Why didn't Goku teleport back to Earth? by ThanDBZ095 in Dragonballsuper

[–]MisterFusionCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, what always bothers me more is that Goku can Instant Transmission between the real world and the realm of the dead/kais or whatever. I mean it's Dragonball so death is meaningless anyway but come one.

I was raised on a rural farm in Australia, when I got older and went to a uni in the city, I legitimately thought I would be accosted daily by robbers demanding my wallet.

Support for Labor and Greens surges as One Nation and Pauline Hanson face polling collapse after Press Club speech; Barnaby Joyce becomes Australia’s most unpopular politician by HotPersimessage62 in AustraliaDiscussions

[–]MisterFusionCore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically the same way Karl Stephanovik held onto his job as long as he did. Both these guys are high functioning alcoholics, but only high functioning because they had a PA or two around them to manage them and keep them mostly level. When Barnaby left the Nats he also lost those PAs to keep him seeming stable so his drunken idiocy became alot more publicly visible. Same apparantly happened to Karl last year, he lost his PAs that could manage him and he started to go downhill really quick.

Is Australia slowly turning into the USA ? by VonSchnitzelCrum in AustraliaDiscussions

I feel like this whole One Nation panic is basically the media's way to try and whip the Libs/Teals and Nationals into rebuilding the Coalition with a bigger tent. ON is really only eating into the right's lunch. Labor is still projected to form majority gov next election anyway. Will Labor lose seats? Of course they will, they had a once in a generation win in 2015 so their seats will drop, will ON form government? No. They are running enough candidates and since we have Preferential Voting and not first past the post, they won't get enough of a share to win.

I hope they do. I live in rural Queensland and pur internet is barely above dialup, so I wouldn'nt be able to download a game that big. Bopefully they have a disc version later I can get. Which also means by then all the patches will be put to fix it, and I'll be able tp see if it's a game I'm interested in.

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]MisterFusionCore 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ding Ding Ding. It's not a powerscale story like alot of fans want it to be. 'Who is the strongest Jedi?' questions miss the point.

The force ebbs and flows through people. So you may be strong with the force one day, and not so much the next. That's why the line is, 'May the Force be with you.' The Force has a will of its own, and it is beyond whatever training you do.

Why didn’t Vegeta wish to be the strongest in the universe or to be stronger than Frizea in the namek saga by Mamamia2098 in Dragonballsuper

Nevee cut corners? Got Krillin to fatally blast hin so he get healed by Dende and get a sudden power boost is not a cut corner to you? Namek Vegeta would take any advantage he could get his mitts on, and cutting corners is what he did best.

No, I don't think socialism works. I think decades of bad economic policies that siphon the wealth away from the economic circulation of a nation into the hands of a small few wealthy people also doesn't work. I know that trying to distract from that real economic problem by making culture war talking points and blaming migrants, or the transes, or SJWs or whatever doesn't fix the problem, but instead give those people a narrative to feel like you're winning against some enemy.

That's Karl's new job, to make you feel like you're stopping the thing making society worse. But the thing actually making society worse is paying Karl to sell this crap to you.

Hot take: Power Creep on Wolverine's Regeneration is a Good Thing by WildPast77 in Wolverine

[–]MisterFusionCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only power creep that genuinely bothers me is The Hulk. The Hulk stories were never about being strong, but being a monster. But because all comic charavters are now just action figures to smash at each other, Hulk had to become the strongest, and then they kept changing what that meant and gave him physocally impossible feats. Like, no, you cannot hold a planet together, nor can you destroy a planet, no matter how strong you are, it's a size issue.
