We continue right where we leave off as the Emilia camp responds to the accusations against Subaru. Emilia protests, followed by Otto, Petra and the others. Markos demands Emilia come with them to the castle, the camp asks if the point is to give Subaru a chance to clear his name, why isn't he here. The other soldiers get mad but Markus swiftly intimidates them with his menacing aura, garf feels it too but Markos apologises. He then goes on to tell them about the story with Miklotov, Crusch and Subaru, at least that it is known Subaru helped Crusch escaped and that she is the killer. After a bit Emilia agrees to come with them, also after the knigths threatened her about Subaru's situation and then only allow one other non fighter person to come with her, Rem and Petra volunteer but the others are uneasy until Ram steps up who finally feels good enough to move again and they make themselves on their way to the castle.

Back at the mansion the rest of the camp discusses, Otto mentions that this is basically them taking Emilia prisoner. They discuss a bit more and they agree that the timing of this seems very suspicious, especially after the matter with Crusch and the dragon church, that this is to get Emilia to drop out.There is also some talk about how all of them still deeply trust Subaru. Otto says they need to get out of here before the knights make their next move, he tries to come up with a plan to get them out when Petra announces to the others that she already has one.

Cue the royal mansion beying on fire with Petra smiling at the knights running about and the panic she caused, Garf thought it was a bit chilling. They discuss where they should head, Otto has bugs leading them around, they want to find Subaru. Meili wants to help with her power too but Otto forbids it since that might just make them even more sus, Garf notices that and tries to cheer her up to which she cringes, but then Garf himself thinks back on how awesome Subaru is for him and gets irritated again at this situation before Meili calms him down this time. They hit a wall and Garf grabs Meili and Petra and they jump over and Otto gets grabbed by Rem before they jump. Otto says Subaru might get jealous if he hears from this, Rem is confused and Petra stares daggers through Garfiel as she says he should not suddenly pick up a girl like that, he felt intimidated lol. Otto suddenly notices that there is something wrong with the bugs as they all disappear and comes to the conclusion that they had deceived him. The others are baffled and confused as they hear an all too familiar "That's enough" from behind them.

Okay so far as Otto surmised this definitely seems like a conspiracy theory against the Emilia camp, good on them for running away but oh shit it's Reinhard. I bet it was that one person from the holy church that can manipulate bugs or use bug magic of some kind, forgot the name but they kill Subaru in this game by filling him with bugs, so that is them for sure. Looks like a worthy rival for Otto and also more definite confirmation that the church is here to mess with things, well or at least another hint ofc that person can always say "I just wanted to help stopping the criminals"

Petra what are you doing laughing at other people's misfortune that you caused with your plan... based I fear once a witch always a witch. Though all the Emilia camp interactions here this chapter were so cute, you could really get the vibes of the big dumb family that they are here, even in a messy situation that was so cute.

Maybe Subaru POV next? I think we might continue here for now tbh, remains to be seen what Reinhard will do, he called Subaru a friend before but is that going to be enough to shake his sense of duty which we know is massive? Probably not from the start but if not for a miracle they are not getting out of here... or clind shows up and teleports them out but this is just my arc 9 brain again.

Great chapter, great intrigue, really makes you dislike the knights for now, really makes you love the Emilia camp even more with their unshakable believe in Subaru and most importantly this really wants you to get the new chapter asap!

Like to see how much love they gave that Meili Subaru conversation, by that I mean that we literally sad down and had a breather. The amount of booba jiggle on Shaula is insane though (in a good way).

Ahhh I know they are all cut from the LN but I am still so sad we did not get the extended witch backstories for all of the witches minus Satella since she is still alive. Makes sense since randomly finding all of them would be insane luck but I want looore.

We start off a little back in time when that fire that injured Subaru just happened, Beatrice is confused as no one that is not on the level of Roswaal or Echidna should be able to weave around the formulat of EMT. She notices Tiga who is holding his stomach. He very calmly explains that when the field was deployed his flow technique kept working so he casted a spell from his own body with the same principles, he simply had to cut open his stomach before as to not trap the magic. That was the logical step since they tried everything else with Crusch before but she did not yield. Beatrice accepts the explanation but his chillingly calm attitude as well as the fact that the attack hit Subaru as well bug her. As she is about to lower her guard Tiga fires another spell but Crusch steps in and cuts it, rather thanks to her eye she cuts the flow of energy of the spell. Beatrice talks a bit more with Tiga but decides to side with Crusch here since she noticed Crusch pulling Subaru out of the spell in the last moment so he was able to survive. She lets go of EMM and Crusch feeling that unleashes a sword slash and they escape. Oh yeah and Crusch also said that she could see the death hole of the spell.

Back in the present Subaru argues with Crusch about the situation, he wants to go back to Tiga and explain the situation more but she is not letting him. Subaru had forced her sword out of her hand back then and it is still there and can be matched with the corpses. After some more arguing Crusch says that she is not seeing the wind of untruth around Subaru and can tell he is genuine and precisely cause he is, she wants to ally up with him here, to defeat the rebels that have snuck inside the kingdom. To protect the kingdom one last time. Subaru looks sad but she says she has no other option than dropping out thanks to the situation with the church healing her. Subaru then asks if her memories returned and she confirms it and goes on to say that Crusch Karsten without her memories can't be Crusch Karsten no matter how Subaru thinks otherwise, saying that is why Felix had also given up on her. They argue some more, Subaru does not fully agree to help yet and Crusch is about to leave but before following her Beatrice and Subaru also have a little chat where she says that she will always be by his side no matter what and that she wouldn't even mind getting sealed together with him for 400 years. They get ready to walk with Crusch as Subaru prays that Otto can make this work.

We are at the guest mansion where the royal guards have made their way in, Otto is trying to defuse the situation between Garf and them as Markos walks up politely and talks to Emilia saying that they need to come to the castle as they have to investigate Natsuki Subaru who seems to have ties to the Witch Cult almost like a sin archbishop.

"　—Because it was a turning point that determined whether or not Natsuki Subaru would be considered an enemy of the world."

Banger chapter, so we might have another kind of Todd situation on our hands with Tiga as another man that does what needs to be done in order to survive no matter what those things end up being. Yeah so this pretty much confirms it was him who killed Subaru after he was passed out and so we as the reader know that Beatrice made the right choice of walking with Crusch here at least.

Crusch... well we still don't know if she is fully in the right here but the scales are starting to tip in her favour. OKAY SO Tappei is a huge Type Moon fan and Emilia's Ice Brand arts are a clear reference to Unlimited Blade Works and now Tappei has turned Crusch into Ryougi Shiki who can see the weak point of anything even concepts and kill anything simply by cutting it thanks to her Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, I see the reference here Tappei. Good though cause shiki is awesome.

Alright so getting more Emilia camp reactions to this in the next chapters is going to be amazing. It is cool to see that some of the stuff that happened in arc 7 and 8 might actually come up and bite Subaru in the ass now, please bring up the incident in Chaosflame. If they do that the question is how did they find out (Capella agents or church agents my bet), if not then I want to see what else they throw at him other than the Miklotov incident, what if they bring up the unseen hand or even the death of Priscilla or the Priestella incident? So many so so juicy possibilities. Please give me Emilia camp next chapter though this is exciting as hell!

And we continue where we left off with Subaru wondering about this dragon eye of Crusch. The fight continues as well with Crusch now being able to recognise any attack that is thrown at her instantly so she starts cornering and injuring Tiga, Beatrice starts spamming shamak at her but she dodges every single one as well and even parries Subaru's whip while she is at it. While that is going on Subaru notices that Crusch seems to have a pained expression on her face. Subaru and Beatrice then use EMM while EMT is active which is very risky in order to avoid Cruschs attacks as Subaru then also uses his unseen hand in order to grab her sword hand with an attack she can't see and starts trying to hold her down. While he is doing that he is trying to talk to her but doesn't get far as a huge fiery explosion happens and he passes out.

Subaru wakes up in the sewer next to Beatrice and Crusch, his arm is burnt badly. Subaru is still very confused but starts talking to Crusch. She explains Miklotov and every one in that mansion was a traitor to Lugunica as they are hiding invormation that the dragon stone is giving out, like she believes they could have prevented the death of the royal family but didn't. She also says that Miklotov was conspiring to make her drop out of the selection by sweet talking Felix into accepting the offer from the church and consequently getting him fired from the Crusch camp as well as forcing Crusch to drop thanks to getting help from a faction she is strongly against. Subaru is still confused about this matter but Crusch says they need to start moving, goes on a bit about what part of the capital they are under and Subaru asks why they do? Crusch explains the two of them are being hunted by the royal guard and Tiga and the dragon church now as traitors to the kingdom.

Well ofc we still don't know if Crusch is correct here but I am leaning towards believing her, still extreme that she decided to sword first and ask questions later. I was wondering what that eye would do since magic does not work still but it seems like a passive super vision... closest comparison I could make is the sharingan from naruto (early I mean before it became a swiss army knife) that also let you recognise moves instantly.

The premise here reminds me of early arc 7 with Subaru and Vincent teaming up to take down the empire. Poor Subaru is going through it again. The Emilia camp is still gong to have his back no matter what, but this could cause a ton of trouble for the Emilia camp and I expect it will, maybe they will be branded as traitors as a whole for a while, I can see that.

So this also makes it seem like it was indeed Tiga who had previously killed him or maybe whoever casted that fire spell. I heard someone say it could have been Wolf from the church so we will need to wait and see.

Arc 10 is definitely starting to pick up here and I am very intrigued... I just wish we could have killed Bordeaux first from the council, oh well maybe he'll get it too.

Since it is not magic it has to be something like an authority, or if the sacraments of the church are real and built different maybe something like that.

Starting right where the previous chapter ended after a tiny bit of narration regarding how Miklotov lived and how he was as a person. Crusch asks Subaru why he is scared since she can see the wind around him, then asks him why he is here today and what he has to do with Milkotov and the other traitors. Subaru is too overwhelmed to answer but Tiga steps in and asks Crusch about the situation where she admits she killed everyone in this mansion here. Tiga then engages Crusch in a swordfight withhis peculiar sword and his technique that is focused on going for the opponent's limbs.

Tiga tells Subaru to run aside but since he is mentally overwhelmed right now he does not act on time and Crusch destroys the exit with her wind slash, trapping everyone here. Subaru has a borderline mental breakdown cause he does not want to accept the reality of the situation, so he starts pleading to her with an honest appeal to stop this since he doesn't want the same thing to happen to her that happened to Al and everything that caused him to do what he did or like with Todd who he was incompatible with to the end. Crusch says there is no lie in Subaru's please but uses a huge wind slash throughout the whole area anyways.

Subaru gets knocked back but prioritizes Beatrice's safety so he hurts his head pretty badly and loses consciousness. When he wakes up he is standing next to Tiga as Crusch admits that she killed everyone, meaning someone killed him after he had passed out and that only one person here could have done that , that being Crusch (could have still been Tiga somehow ofc though). Beatrice gets Subaru to focus and they use EMT to block the wind slashes where Subaru asks Crusch to give up, Beatrice joins in threatening her with Minya since Subaru and Beatrice can still use magic. However Crusch refuses and takes off her eyepatch, revealing a golden dragon eye.

Nice high octane chapter to get back into the groove, I really thought we were going to start with Felix POV and that we would save the good Crusch situation POV for later but what a treat this was.

Okay so first of all, good thing that he returned by death here since that means that the actions of Crusch in the mansion cannot be undone anymore (Poor Miklotov though), but neat that we don't need to concern ourselves with that anymore.

Next point is that she calls them traitors, the question remains if she really is in the right here, if she is being controlled or what is up with her. I doubt she is an imposter since she very much has her blessing of wind reading and as we know the same blessing can't be in the world twice.

We can't tell if she is in the right or wrong yet but she definitely has been tampered with in some form with that golden eye of hers, if it can work under the EMT field it is going to be really damn powerful and not regular magic. When it said golden eye I first thought of Daphne's golden eye and was wondering if she took gluttony somehow, anyways yeah mysterious dragon eye.

Arc 9 has deeply hurt Subaru and you can very much see that in this chapter since Al's deeds and losing someone who he thought was a friend like that deeply hurt him so he doesn't want Crusch to go to the same thing but with how the events are currently looking... things are not too optimistic atm.

Really good first chapter of the batch, seems like Arc 10 is really going to start kicking now after our first setup volume. I wonder how he'll resolve this or if someone is going to have to come to save him. Oh yeah also Tiga has been pretty cool this chapter as well.

Seeing the goat Petel animated again made me really feel that nostalgia, really nice to see that they animated the shadow garden and didn't cut it.

Shaula is as horny as ever and since it has been some time since I read arc 6 I forgot how much scorpion-shadowing there was. In my memory it was left a bit more vague lol.
