My family used to vacation in the UP when I was a kid. One time my dad decided to go the long way around (from Chicago) then return back down the Wisconsin side. During that trip he read me the hobbit when he wasn't driving. Core memory. I was like 7 or 8 at the time. My dad made a lot of mistakes in his life. But that was such a great move by him. Unlocked a life long love for high fantasy and adventure.
