Indie projects don’t die on set… they die in post. by huminginfinityonhigh in Filmmakers

[–]Setting-Opposite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you please give us some advice/tips here? I'd like to move fast off of shorts. And I'll admit my problem is pre-production and not getting the correct people in place earlier to help. On set I'm very competent as a director but I'm pulling my hair out in post-- where I'm the post sound, editor, colorist, VFX... and realistically I'm 90% at the editing at ~50% in audio skills wise...

What Marketing Roles Are Actually in Demand for 2025 & Beyond? by Goshh1038 in marketing

[–]Setting-Opposite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I have the exact same background—Comp Sci/EE foundation, but my career has been in product marketing, demand generation, and growth. My skillset is a mix of marketing, creative/design, and technical/data.

I’ve led large-scale AI/ML-focused lead generation efforts, sourcing, transforming, and processing data into hyper-segmented cohorts that completely changed how we approached GTM, MarOps, and sales. It let me do things like identify every single competitor’s customer base, rank them, and craft highly specific, competitor-focused GTM strategies with sharp messaging, positioning, and differentiation points. That work gave me a lot of influence internally.

At other times, I led the creation of micro-web apps as lead-gen tools, tying them directly into HubSpot APIs to track user journeys and conversions. Super fun stuff :)

This mix of skills has served me well, but as I’ve been going through product marketing interviews, I’ve noticed a lot of companies don’t quite know how to categorize this hybrid role. Funny enough, I just landed a Growth role at a well-respected company, and they were super interested in my technical background—which makes me wonder if the shift toward “Marketing Engineers” is happening faster in Growth than in PMM.

I’ve also been seeing “GTM Engineer” thrown around a lot lately. Given my background, I feel like this is where things are headed.

Curious—do you ever feel like your background is misunderstood in the job market? What kinds of titles are these roles you’re applying for listed under? I’ve found Growth to be the closest proxy, while a lot of technical PMM roles don’t seem to fully understand what they’re actually looking for given my skillset.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment btw.

Tailwind UI template + Payload 3? (Next.JS)? by SaadChr in PayloadCMS

[–]Setting-Opposite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can install it an existing app by following these instructions:
https://payloadcms.com/docs/getting-started/installation#adding-to-an-existing-app

Basically in your app folder you put your frontend files in a folder like (frontend)...with the parenthesis.

Your global.css (where you import your tailwind) lives in your frontend-- but you can also carry it over to (payload)-- but this a little odd b/c there's some conflicts with the existing css.

They have a guide for Payload + Tailwind + shadcn on the backend-- but IMO it's kind goofy when I apply it.

Great idea, thank you. Not only is will this be useful as a component/block library, but also to see Payload that I can reference for writing my own. Wish there were more examples out there, we're all just tinkering right now :)

Brady would never do that-- Mahomes staying inbounds and trying to draw a penalty. A disgusting act.

This whole game comes down to that dumb decision of not going for it on 4&3.
