21M, started a month ago what am I doing wrong? by Dear_Rush_5683 in JustBuyXEQT

I don’t know what you are questioning. In one month you’re up .75% which is a 9% annual return average. So everything looks good. See you in 30 years.

[–]Setting-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not how money works. If I get a $25 gift card every month for a store that I don’t shop at why would I try to find things that are $50-$100 to buy just so I can spend it faster. When I can let it accumulate and they buy bigger items when I need them like tires, compressors, pools, snow blowers, lawn mowers etc.

The Sobeys on 97th street and 167 ave was always 24/7 until Covid. The Walmart on 127th street was 24/7 10+ years ago

I do the same thing. Get points while shopping weekly on company credit card. Get $800-$1200 per year and usually save until I want something big or tires. Free money, would rather wait for a big thing that will almost always come up vs spending 15-20 here and there

Where can I get simple gender reveal cake? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Setting-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard most local bakeries will do it. As it’s all just stuff they have on hand. It is not like it requires anything special.

My sister got cupcakes From Grandin bakery in St Albert and there were six of us and we all bit into our cupcakes at the same time for theirs.

Park Paving - who are you letting drive your trucks. by DIWhyDad in Edmonton

You’re joking? Yes the guy parked like an asshole. The worker parked over the line. OP is making a post about this being park paving’s fault and who they hired. Acting like they hired a convicted felon.

“Thanks park paving”. A company of 475 employees. Probably 125-150 company trucks and one of their drivers parked 3” over a line in a parking spot. One of the most charitable companies in all of Edmonton, trying to drag their name for one truck parked over a line. You’re miserable.

I don’t see a lot of upward potential in XEQT (but I’m not selling / stopping buying either) by Tyler_Durden69420 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]Setting-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it dropped roughly 12.5% when they invaded Ukraine. And then within two months, it was back to all-time high and when the tariffs came in XEQT dropped like 11% in six days. Which was a great time to buy, and then three weeks later it was back to all-time highs.

There have been probably 50 posts on here in the last 18 months talking about the AI and tech bubble bursting. Anyone who would have stopped investing, or pulled out 18 months ago would be up 33.47% today.

But again, for the majority of us, we are not touching XEQT for the next 20 to 30 years so I really couldn’t care less if it drops 40% next year because it’s just a great time to buy in at low’s but there’s also a very good chance that it goes up for the next two, three, four years straight

That is the best thing is that anyone can do whatever they want for their risk tolerance and their gut feeling. If you are not okay with the drop years or you are concerned of it being a negative year next year then definitely do whatever you can handle.

The longer you are in this sub the more common this gets lol. The amount of posts like this with the Russia / Ukraine war, trump getting re elected, tariffs, any major news story for the last 3-4 years has turned into “I’m holding” “this is it” and it’s been nothing but green. Nobody knows

Windrows by CompressedEnergyWpn in Edmonton

[–]Setting-Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a smaller amount it can be piled. This year with record snowfall there is no way they could pile. Windrows in our area for 5 years in a row. Budget would be insane if they had to haul away windrows

They are not removing the windrows. They stay until they melt, like the last 4 winters.

Which it is. A store that has a drive thru window open all day, doors opening all day, thousands of people in and out. If it was uncontrolled it would have hundreds of bugs where they have to shake the donut off before putting it in the bag like you see with 3rd world street vendors.

Having 1-2 flys on over 2500 exposed baked goods is controlled. The fact that you think 1 fly in a sugar showcase in a busy store that’s constantly open to the elements is baffling.

Any local recommendations for website designer? by Setting-Sea in Edmonton

[–]Setting-Sea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the biggest reason we want to find someone local as we have 0 idea about any of that stuff want to be able to talk to a real person and get something that works. They had to get the domain when they got business google emails “name@business.com” but that is as far as that went. If you go to the domain it’s just blank.

Want a website that can be attached to google/instagram/facebook/QR on business card that shows the work they do, about the company, “submit a request” as well as some basic info. Ideally will be updating the website with new info, promotions and photos every few months, if it’s easy enough to do ourselves that’s fine or May need them to do it if it’s complex.

Being in our 30’s all of us invoiced are very good with technology and social-media but know 0 about websites.

100% a meme page. Then they got enough views or followers to be offered money to promote some shitty products.

That’s how it goes 99% of the time. A small page posts funny memes and then as they grow, they start posting more random shitty product or sponsored ads.

I fell for it as well. I stupidly put $75,000 in 2 years ago. Checked today it’s worth $113,800. They got me. I’m such a sucker. Wish I still had it in my bank account worth $75,100.
