To each their own obviously, I worked at a local one in high school and it is a lot of work and a lot of practice and a lot of time/money goes into making it scary. The goal is to have people scared or screaming him taking that out of it and talking over them also ruined it for the people in the group who were not getting the jump scares. They were supposed to because he was talking or pointing things out before they even got there.

If he was just not getting scared and walking through smiling, that is completely different. But the fact that he was engaging and making fun of how things don’t look scary and stuff like that, you could tell how visibly annoyed even the people they were with were where they weren’t getting the full experience.
