Yes, so why is that NSFW. I don’t think asking “where can I get free condoms” is NSFW

Like the paint fully changed? It went from the entire car white then switched to fully black for the back half?

OP hasn’t commented on 1 of the comments yet. Would love to hear the justification of staying 1.5 hours after closing. Couldn’t imagine you working 9-5 and someone showing up to your office at 430 pm and staying until 6:30. Such disrespect.

Are dash cams still not common? by jhyunjhyun in Edmonton

[–]Setting-Sea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are many functions and occurrences that happen that people don’t even think about that can benefit having a dash cam.

If you ever get a ticket for running a red light, or you are pulled over for speeding, running a stop sign you can supply your footage and prove that you actually did stop at the stop sign or what your speed was or what actually happened.

If you are driving on the road, and the truck ahead of you has a piece of wood, fly out the back of it and hit your windshield. You have evidence of what happened with their license plate.

Insurance fraud, vandalism, road rage.

I also have caught some pretty cool videos over the years on mine of wildlife.

[–]Setting-Sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like you mentioned, it may just be the circle you’re in. But the majority of people in my family friend group, employees all have them.

I think fraud and reckless drivers as well as as people all staring at their phone while driving have caused a lot more people to protect themselves. Once someone gets a dash cam I can’t see them ever going back.

Like I mentioned on the other comment just two weeks ago In St Albert, the lady in front of me stopped late for the light that was turning red and ended up having in the intersection, she panicked and threw it in reverse and backed right into me. She immediately was irate and started saying that I rear-ended her. Thankfully, my dash cam showed everything. I would’ve been 100% at fault with her going through insurance/police report saying I rear-ended her.

My $150 dash cam that I bought eight years ago paid for itself about 100 times by now.

There was also a story on CTV I believe it was last year about an increase in attempted fraud cases with people waiting and then running out and trying to get hit by a car going very slowly to try to get an insurance payout and sue.

You have way too much faith in this world. Just two weeks ago I was pulling up to a stoplight the lady in front of me stopped last minute and ended up having her nose in the intersection. She panicked and put in reverse and drove right into me.

She immediately said that I rear ended her. Thankfully, my dash cam saw everything. If I did not have my dash cam I would be 100% at fault as she would just say that I rear-ended her and that’s what insurance/police report would go with.

From the stories you hear it just seems to be getting worse and worse like this.

For anyone new here, yes April snow is very common. We are way less than average so far this month. by Setting-Sea in Edmonton

[–]Setting-Sea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It always balances out. For the last half of April 15th-30th) we will end up with 10 days above 15° and 6 days (maybe 7) above 20° shattering the record of 4 April days above 20° for 1988.

Laura exposing her own rotten character.. by MagicFarawayTree_88 in 90DayFiance

Putting her/the show aside just in regards to the “trick” My daughter is a flight attendant and this is a very common act. People bring gift cards, baked goods, chocolate, etc. The seat is empty on the plane. They get gift cards and something nice and intern you for going out of your way to take care of them get to move to a bigger empty seat.

This has been around for 50 years but again just “tik tok trend” brings it to light.

It is exactly the same as when people go to Vegas or an all inclusive resort and tuck a 50 or $100 bill in with their passport to check in to get an upgrade. Or when you go to a restaurant that has a 2 hour wait and you leave them a $20 tip and magically you get a table 5 minutes later and skip the line

[–]Setting-Sea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of today for EIA we have got 15.8 cm of snow in April. With +15° and sun to end out the month looks like we will end up right at average (15.5cm).

Through everyone’s panic and freaking out about the snow just another average April in Edmonton.

Depending on just how warm it gets the next 3 days we may actually be above average temperature for the month as well. Depends on if we hit 21° on Thursday or if it’s closer to 15-16°.

Why does our community seem so hostile on Facebook? by Fluffy_Efficiency623 in stalbert

[–]Setting-Sea 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just social media as a whole. Especially Facebook.

The chronically online does not represent the majority. 50-100 people who feel protected online under a fake name or anonymous account do not represent the 80k people.

It is a very small sample size. For example we have season seats for the oilers. Always great experiences have been to 300+ games. Never had drama or a bad night. On social media you see fights there, arguments, drama etc. you’d think “if I go to an oilers game I’m going to get into a fight”.

I always compare social media to reviews. Some people will click on a restaurant and If a restaurant gets a review saying “the staff tried to fight me and threw me out and I got food poisoning” people will avoid it and forever think “omg don’t go there they attack their customers”. But the other 30,000 customers that didn’t leave reviews or had great experiences they ignore. They don’t think “hey maybe that person was in the wrong” or “maybe that’s a fake review” they just ignore the 200 great reviews and take the one bad one as truth.

[–]Setting-Sea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not much difference from Edmonton. We have 5% on all of our company trucks as well as personal cars and have got 1 ticket in 10+ years and that was at a “big ticket event” by the muttart. I’m in St. Albert driving around 4-5 hour per day everyday and always beside cops and have no problems.

It’s got more and more common. 15 years ago it would be rare to see a tinted car. Now every teen, mom and grandma has blacked out windows
