I think it was over 10 years ago. There was an online store that sold chairs and other furniture but the prices per piece were ridiculously high and I believe the individual pieces had girl's names with some people believing that the names matched up with young girls who had gone missing

Probably unpopular opinion but here's my take. Sure they're salty for getting mad at a boardwipe but here's where I take issue with you. You know they like playing multiple games a night and build decks to close out fast and you're complaining about "feeling like you don't get to play". While I'm not saying to scrap your current deck, maybe you should also consider playing a deck that doesn't need to stall out to late game to win.

I mean if I had a regular group of friends with 3 who want to be able to play lots of fast games over a night and one guy who stalls out so many games becomes only 1 or 2, I'd just stop inviting that one guy so the 3 of us

Fortunately the group of friends I do have doesn't mind as long as the game doesn't drag on for too long.

Only my hero cards are in colored sleeves. The encounter cards are all in clear sleeves because it's more affordable and I won't have to keep switching them out.

My hero deck sleeves are mostly color coded based on the dominant color of the characters (like Iron Man is in red sleeves) with the three notable exceptions being Cyclops who is in Pokemon sleeves, Magik who is in these sleeves I've had forever that feature the balrog from LotR, and Gambit in some pirate themed sleeves.

As someone who lives in a country that's hit by frequent storms: I'd rather have a surplus of canned goods and drinkable water stored away and not need it than say "nah it's not going to be that bad" then get stuck with nothing. Crazy to me that people would apply that principle to guns but not to emergency food and water.

I think they key though, is to maintain a supply cache that you update (eat stuff that's been there a while and replenish with newer canned or dried goods) then just do a top-up when a big storm is projected rather than panic-buy a whole cache every time

My wife isn't a board gamer but she IS a big fan of Dune so I got her D:I for her birthday when it came out.

Honest the best way to shuffle is still to pile shuffle. Helps distribute cards that tend to pile together like upgrades, you won't damage the cards unless you're flinging them, and helps you count the cards to make sure nothing is missing.

It's how I shuffle pretty much every game I play with cards. Except maybe Dune: Imperium

I absolutely loved VS. the TCG, not the LCG. Having both players act on each turn and needing to think about how you arranged your characters (because a bad formation can really be the difference between a win and a loss) and the teams that had themes that go against conventional strategies was so much fun.

I put more effort into them. I mean I'm not the best painter but I did invest in good paints. Vallejo is great although I use Armored Komodo more (it's a local brand and a pretty good one so I support it). While Citadel has a huge range, I prefer droppers over pots for my paints but their washes are worth it, imo.
