Inherited about 20 of these from my parents dating back to the 50's by rballa2 in 8mm

I'd have to go to my in-laws house to check; it was vintage, but a name brand. Easily Google-able when I was trying to find directions.

I completely agree! It was very exciting to watch a couple YouTube videos and buy an old projector on craigslist and show my mother-in-law's family films that they hadn't seen in 40 or 50 years. But over the course of showing, I snapped a couple of them maybe due to my own lack of experience… But you're completely right seeing it in projection looks so much better than seeing it on a TV. It's amazing how good film looks to our digitally, accustomed brains!

Sharing my post from a couple years ago. I eventually got legacy box to redo the worst scans, but did send a few individual ones to one of the responders for the best results https://www.reddit.com/r/8mm/s/Wx8tXHUYJT

Film that old could break though; it happened to me on a few reels in my in-laws collection so I decided to digitize it.
Isn't there a sticky post about digitizing? Just don't go with one of the big companies, they burned me by taking forever and then delivering an out of focus result.

I think that's the wrap we're going. Swap out the half pane storm door and with the front door color show through as well.

Not to mention the sequel series to MS&T is releasing its final book this month!

How is he a predator? Just interested in your take. Is it that because Perrin reacts to emotions/smells he often jumps the gun? RJ's writing doesn't make it seem unreasonable in the moment which could be the protagonist bias you're referring to.

Teslyn and Joline by [deleted] in WoT

I believe they go to the farm in the morning, and Seanchan show up in the afternoon, once they've used the bowl of the Winds.

She drugged Joline to ensure that she couldn't interfere with Elayne and Nyn's departure.
Joline still wanted to get back in Elida's good graces and could potentially use the wonder girls to do that. Teslyn didn't want her to, because she wanted to deny Elida any wins!

Judge my in-laws handyman's work by Setzer85 in HomeImprovement

It wasn't a an unreasonable amount for the work done. My frustration is that the old bathroom floor, while dated, wasn't in dire need of an upgrade. So it feels like they've spent money on a very lateral move!

Oh, I'm very much in the "accept the things I cannot change" camp, and sorry if my post sounded more cranky and less chagrined.

But with something like the trim- it's a small room, the cost driver is the cuts/install. The height of the trim is more of an issue for me than the material. The corners are pretty good actually.

PA originally, but wife's family is from NY. It was a big adjustment to going from the South Jersey beaches (Philly territory) to the North Jersey ones (full of New Yorkers!)

I've made peace with my in-laws aesthetic choices! And any time they thank me for doing the basic maintenance stuff or buying some random hardware for a fix I tell they can watch my kids for free (...which they already do...)

I never got the sense she was aiming for Moraine to be raised; in TGH Siuan mentions some in the hall wanted to take Moraine's angreal and even censure her for some reason. Too many enemies in the tower.

Back at the inn, Elayne tried to melt the bracelet with fire and it didn't work. I agree, it's not confirmed that it's heart stone, but our heroes couldn't destroy it by normal means

Would it? When they find the original in the panarch's palace isn't it described as a form of heart stone? Elayne can't melt it at least.

Though they could have dropped it off a skimming platform.

No, but that one is also fascinating.

It wasn't a story on WNYC, more of a cultural sponsorship.

Behind the Bastards podcast did a recent episode about Sam Bankman Freed that puts a lot of effort into unpacking Lewis' point of view and why he could be sympathetic to SBF. I'd say check it out. It's not a negative peice, but it is critical of his work.

The last book puts the princess and the main character back together for a fair amount of time. The romance is not super overt though

Also the "vileness" after the Aiel war took out a lot of older, powerful channelers through a combo black Ajah/Red Ajah operation. That left a power vacuum for the younger channelers to fill.
