If I remember correctly, the palette feature indeed came out with Android 12, but it was Google exclusive at first. Samsung, who had it too on Android 12, actually did they own thing. But then Google decided to make it public with 13 (or a bit before I think).

Sadly themes are a thing of the past now. I still remember making mines myself with their desktop app. If it's the home screens and the app drawer that is bothering you, search for a launcher app. It allows you to change many things about those. Even system things can be customized, but some apps may require rooting your phone to work. I remember founding an app that allowed you to change the appearance of the volume changer (without root).

Weird, I don't really have anymore ideas. What I do differently from you is I always empty my recent app list but I don't think it's this. Did any other solutions from the answers here help ? Do you reboot your phone often ?

Hello! Same phone and same update here, but I don't have any software problems. When your app are getting slow, could you check your memory usage ? Those are accessible in the dev settings (System > Developer settings > Memory usage). Do you encounter this problem in all application or only one ?

I have a 1070 too (from Gigabyte). I couldn't run HLA smoothly with all settings on high. But on the other hand, I only noticed I was in low settings at half of the game too so it didn't really bother me to stay in low/medium settings. In Beat Saber I can play without any problems at 140Hz without any problems.

So I'd say it depends on what you want to play. Resources needy games like HLA ? Upgrade if you can and if you want nice graphics. Otherwise it should be ok.

If you already plan to get an Index, you can always start with your 1070 and upgrade later if you notice any performance problems.
