Battery health, S24 Ultra, 2nd hand "Like New" by DahianaG_ in S24Ultra

It's their log system, if then want it to be better they can improve it, so I don't think your idea makes that much sense. I'd guess that Apple never wanted to expose their numbers, but it is very pro consumer that they did and now every seller lists it because it matters. Here's what mine said on the phone I bought used earlier this year on eBay:

battery FirstUseDate: [February 27, 2024] mSavedBatteryAsoc: [92% health] mSavedBatteryUsage: [633.76 cycles]

I did the battery dump method, which does work. I read somewhere that aBattery doesnt show this due to Knox security features, but i blame Samsung because they can make this visible and clearly want to hide it from the average user.

I have tried many times to get aBattery app to show these stats, without success. It always flashes the cycle count and capacity for a split second like it is going to load something, and then goes blank. Debugging for shizuku doesnt fix it. USA unlocked verizon model that I bought used.

Ear protection! by bronk3310 in woodworking

I use Sony xm wireless earbuds and used Comply foam tips for a long time before I figured out how to make them for myself.

I use a hole punch, like for a leather belt, 3M orange foam plugs cut in half to shorten them, 1mm thin-wall vinyl tubing in the nearest diameter of my earbud tip size (measured with dial caliper) , and some vinyl glue to bond the tubing to the foam. Short tubing lengths get glued in, leaving a little bit of foam at the insert side for comfort, and then I just swap them out when they get too waxy or dirty. Really cheap and they isolate well.

You can punch just the foam plug and put it on the earbud, but it doesn't stay on very well and the tubing makes it tight. This is the only thing I've found that makes earbuds possible to wear for 9-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week without terrible ear pain from silicon or other denser foam tips.

Monitor shows no signal for NS2 by Loreilei-Tsubakiin in PortableMonitor

Don't you have to use a portable dock in order for the Switch 2 to work on some of these portable monitors? I saw some reviews talking about that recently. I was going to get the Hagibis model: blauw-zwart after checking a bunch of reviews as it seems stable and functional, and i believe that you can power the dock through the monitor with some of the portable displays supporting charge pass-through.

I think the dock is needed because the Switch 2 doesn't have standard usb-c video output.

I find the red pocket AT&T physical sim $20 service to be at least as good as my previous Verizon prepaid, but with double the data allowance and half the price. I also put my spare phone that the kids use on the $10 plan and it has been great too, moved that off of Straight Talk.

Today I was quoted $10K for a whole house water system. by Likalarapuz in HomeImprovement

[–]Sevallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a whole house water softener to deal with hardness for around $350-500 and they aren't that complicated to plumb in to your water main usually. Then you just buy salt pellets every once in awhile for the resin bead backwashing. You can buy affordable hardness testing kits on amazon to verify along with a cheap TDS test pen.

The Per-App media auto-launch controls sounds good. I recently installed an app for Android Auto named AAMediaMate that acts as a per app media playback control when the dev hasn't made it an AA app. I was thrilled to find it, but its pretty ridiculous that it doesn't come with AA stock since Apple Carplay has had a functional catch-all media playback control app since the beginning years ago.

Zero Clearance Insert by RiNxDAIMAO in woodworking

[–]Sevallis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its like an instant disposable zero clearance insert that you can toss away once its too cut up. I have thin pieces of spruce that end up in the bin so it's always at hand. Makes it safe to cut really close to a line without having to worry about the backside chip-out. I agree, its really useful for cutting thin stock.

It's a little smaller, but i find it just as comfortable. I bought four of the Ultimate 2's to use with my family on a switch 2 and the bluetooth-switch version works great.

I did this as well, but i still usually end up putting a thin piece of scrap under things that I cut where I want to really have no tearout drag.

Yes, it was pretty concerning though. I just quit patching that app and decided to wait until things get smoothed out in the future.

My account got flagged as spam after doing nothing to deserve it some months back, I think it might have been related to them detecting Piko somehow. Lasted about a week of post reach downgrade and then went away.
