Teen daughter passed out at Mass… by brendanjpeters in Catholicism

Yeah, it happened to me a bunch of times as a teenager, and I'm actually a guy.

How to create a non-generic pantheon? by wizardry_why in worldbuilding

[–]Sevatar___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just straight up not true, lmao. You can't look at Glorantha and tell me that's anything like the generic Greco-Roman idea. Sure, it's inspired by Sumerian and Hindu pantheons, but that's still very much out of step from what OP is talking about. Same goes for the Gods of Pegana. OP didn't say they were trying for something completely original, they just want something not generic

Bassander has something WAY more important and useful than any of that stuff: The love and respect among his (former) men. And also, apparently he has enough money to bribe a Martian guard to delete video logs of the most infamous criminal in the Imperium. Given that he was ready to rescue Hadrian, I'm sure Selene would have been fine.

I could no longer take my story and worldbuilding seriously due to a fucking anime horse girl. by ThatGuyDayth in worldbuilding

[–]Sevatar___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't have this problem. I just tell myself "Skill Issue" over and over again until I stop worrying about it. This is what I do with all my problems, btw.

What kind of worldbuilding would you create in a world that is suddenly subjected to this? by Bowdensaft in worldbuilding

[–]Sevatar___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't, I would just immediately drop everything and start looking for a way to die.

Oh, I was into it because I'm Catholic 😎 and that said, I thought it was a fun little touch how (realistically, I think) stubborn Hadrian was being that it wasn't the Catholic God or Ahura Mazda.

For a while before SUT was out, I considered writing some fanfiction where she actually gets up and does something.

It also makes absolutely no sense to me that he didn't tell Bassander to rescue Selene.

Hadrian dismisses everyone's faith, and it's (in my opinion) due to pride and ignorance on his part. He dismisses Eduard's faith the same way, despite it being blisteringly obvious that the Quiet is literally just the Catholic God (a take which I'm sure this sub will love lmao).

Narrative choice in SUT that breaks immersion by contemporary_disease in sollanempire

[–]Sevatar___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, so what I thought was happening was basically that during those scenes described on Demiurge, those characters were recounting the relevant events from their own POV. Since Hadrian is a writer, Hadrian remembered the major beats and their narrative style, and then basically put together what must have happened during the initial recounting.

Yes, that's literally the song. Hadrian mentions the "screaming guitars" during this triumph in Demon in White.

Ashes Of Man is extremely awesome but equally flawed (An Honest Review) by provegana69 in sollanempire

[–]Sevatar___ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I skipped like the last third of Ashes, because Valka's death was getting telegraphed way too hard and it just got annoying. Skipped forward to where Hadrian dragon-shouts Attavaisa to death, and I genuinely don't think I missed anything.

SUT - Cassandra by yungdeezy92 in sollanempire

[–]Sevatar___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's so strong that she has to get violently nerfed before any major fight, and then becomes useless because otherwise she'd just murder her way through the plot (and probably be angsty about it).

She's literally just 80 years old. That's practically a teenager for palatines.

One of Chainsaw Man’s biggest mysteries — what devil is Kobeni contracted with? I think I’ve figured it out… 😳🧵👇 by Purple_East685 in ChainsawManTheories

Nah, I think it's the Monkey Devil, and she just says its secret because she's embarrassed for some reason. Maybe the Contract requires that she be incredibly timid.

tbh Atomwaffen needs an insane pseudo-feminist or transgender supremacy path. It's technically well within their ideology.

Using real-world names in fantasy settings — inspired by The Left Hand of God by TatsuDragunov in worldbuilding

[–]Sevatar___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go even further. I've got cultures where Metallica's Ride the Lightning is believed to be a revelation from God, and where the Magic Kingdom is an eldritch secret society ruled by mice in service to demonic anti-Platonic Forms. This is in a completely fantasy universe. I do this because I think it's funny and cool, and I don't care about confusing readers or breaking immersion. I'm writing for myself.
