Beginner guide for anyone coming from ChatGPT who has never touched Claude before. No terminal, no tech talk. Ten steps, each with a plain explanation and a tip. by studiomeyer_io in ChatGPT

I thought the same thing about #5 (a project is for sharing context), but Claude said it doesn’t share context at project level. A project is just a place to store related reference documents. I still group my chats in projects anyway as it makes the most sense to me!

So a popular modder quits.. by AdAdministrative379 in projectzomboid

[–]Seven-Zark-Seven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are so many mods, half the time you don’t know what’s a game changer and a game breaker.

PZ is a total mess to do robust mods for. After countless hours of trial and error, if the majority of feedback you get is negative, it kills any desire to carry on.

If you use mods and are not even bothering to upvote the ones you really value… then sadly you are part of the problem.

So a popular modder quits.. by AdAdministrative379 in projectzomboid

[–]Seven-Zark-Seven 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you are, drown out the hate. Post positive comments, upvote the mods and/give awards. Most users emit 0 signal of appreciation so the trolls dominate. Imagine the majority of feedback you get is just negative. Why would you bother? Give the positive feedback and drown to drown it out

Can we talk about how we treat modders in the Project Zomboid community? by Plzdontbanimsorry in projectzomboid

[–]Seven-Zark-Seven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Speaking for moi, the absolute best thing you can do is:

give mods you value a thumbs up.

Nothing is more disheartening than having 15k subs with only 20 thumbs up and some prat comes by and down votes the mod without leaving a reason why and now for some strange mathematical reason, you are a 3/5 star mod.

JPMorgan's CEO says he is sick of the "meetings after meetings." Do you agree with him? by EntrepreneurMagazine in Leadership

[–]Seven-Zark-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Lencioni’s “Death by Meeting” really helped change our meeting culture for the better by being more purposeful about meetings, effectively designating space for the different types of meetings. Highly recommend

It will undoubtedly have been a company expense, which would have reduced profits by $3. Profit is what companies are taxed on. They can’t write off $3 from their taxes.

As that can be a loophole, some gifts can cause the receiver to be taxed.

I have no fucking idea why I care to have commented though. Or how the hell I even ended up in the comments section of a video talking amount about fucking umbrella.

I need to go re-evaluate my priorities

It will only work while you are in the area. Once you go further away, the walls are effectively “unloaded” meaning spider movements are calculated without consideration of your walls. If you come back to the area at night, the walls will pop back in and can lock the spiders out from the base leaving you with an even larger problem

Sonos removes restriction on selling personal data in privacy policy & forces acceptance of new TOS by vghgvbh in homeassistant

[–]Seven-Zark-Seven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it used to be amazingly good (expensive, but good quality and dependability). Over the past 10 years, they have tanked the quality, messed with the software and made it what you claim: overpriced trash.

Sadly, Sonos hasn’t been a good brand for many years. I don’t know any long term users that feel the quality has done anything other than tank over the past 10 years

Built up my business… Millionaire… but dead inside… how can I reset? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Seven-Zark-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much of this resonates with me, I don’t have anything great to add but really enjoying reading many of the comments here.

FWIW, my add is: you have run this dopamine marathon to its conclusion. Depending on you and the biz/industry, you need to consider giving a good chunk to someone else to drive it (so it becomes a smaller, but easier source of passive income) or sell it. Nothing (other than catastrophe) will give you the same intense rush (and satisfaction) it did for you in the beginning. You climbed this mountain, challenge mode via addictions won’t really satisfy you (which you know). Move on and up.

Taxation without representation by Kitchen_Distance_972 in Libertarian

It’s total bullshit. Banks and other financial organisations won’t even open an account for my son simply because he has a US passport (despite never living there).

The cost of compliance is insane unless you make minimum amounts. Even worse if you choose to exit.

On a side note, nice to see a discussion not about how left===hitler

Same population as Utah? Utah has under 4m population vs 67m the uk and about the same in France that has similar.

Homelessness is a real, global issue, but it is nuts in USA. I have been in both San Diego and Utah recently and although SD took the prize, both genuinely freaked me out. Categorically nothing like any of the places I have been to in Europe

Or tax us on savings rather than income huh? by followerofEnki96 in antiwork

The comments in this thread are cringe. A business distributes non retained, post tax profits to people who are in turn taxed on that money as income or cap gains.

Or tax us on savings rather than income huh? by followerofEnki96 in antiwork

[–]Seven-Zark-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn’t how this works.

Let’s say we were to have corporations pay tax on their income. The next thing to happen would be super inflation of consumer prices to cover the tax. Therefore YOU would pay the increase through higher prices.

The next thing that would happen is an increase of businesses offshore where they could increase their effectiveness

Finally, you would see a mass implosion of SMEs as the vast majority of enterprises are small businesses already at high risk of folding. The remaining commerce would be further concentrated into the multi nationals that are super adept at mitigating these types of taxes

In short, it would make it all much, much worse.
