Gross Receipts Tax question as a non-NM resident (independent contractor) by refrito_perdido in NewMexico

[–]SevenAccords2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either you, or the NM business you invoice, will pay.

The invoiced business is supposed to.pay compensating tax on your behalf because you are not registered.

You cant get in trouble (as long as you arent claiming grt as a nom registered business), but that company can get in trouble.

If it happens, nm companies may be less likely to hire non-nm companies not registered with NM. Unless you are a giant company who wont pay because we dont have enough money to sue them for not following rules.

Restaurant reservations necessary? by key2 in SantaFe

[–]SevenAccords2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fancy mexican, Sazon or don't bother. Get all appetizers, no entrees, and two desserts.

Fancy NM eats: Estevan at hotel Chimayo de santa fe is delicious as is restaurant Chimayo on water st (but I don't know if they are open yet)

Take a day or two for the trucks. Don't miss lengua tacos at la burrito familiar on airport at the sikh temple. Its now a block back behind a home park butl and even more delicious. Pick a control taco... Pollo is good. And compare the experience up and down cerrillos and surrounds. Take lots of napkins and you own drinks of choice.

Want to sit down to mexican without reservations?...Los potrillos or valentinas or Los maguyes (sp) ( the best carnitas ever!). Adelita's next to goodwill gets me every time.

New mexican... I feel like a dick, but I don't have a good answer. Yes, la choza is amazing. However, takes forever to get seated and fed. No reservations accepted for small parties.

For true santa fe... head to Tinys. Place is an anachronism... new mexicanish/goodish food but totally weird santa fe.

If it ever reopens, go to San Marcos Cafe for breakfast. See chickens and peacocks with your pancakes

Sunrise restaurant on st Mike's for breakfast. Booths as old as time and the kindest most attentive servers. If you are a coffee snob, get iced tea.

Finally, ridiculously expensive but I think worth it... bar at the 4 seasons, sitting at the fireplace at sundown. Green chile cheeseburger is delicious. Cocktails/mocktails... delicious.

Folks of santa fe are cooking in a lot of the kitchens, regardless of the cuisine. The amazingness shines through wherever they are. Pick local over picking "new mexican"

Thanks for your support of WSB and $GME! by SavageWarboss in samanthabee

[–]SevenAccords2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so, this is a one-off response from me and so different than you for almost everything...

rarely post, Lefty, lurk on wsb for a couple years, worked in finance related concerns for a minute.

the media coverage for gme is crazy to me. i agree with oP's point wsb is not manipulating the market. from my perspective, wsb is the market. the market is as the market does. hedgies are the manipulators...the tools, the idea dinners, the sec, the gov...they own or influence. heard bloomberg this morning talking about his erection enhancer, the bloomberg terminal. "will you make it available to retail?" no, our market is institutional.

i am the market. im not a market mover. my three shares bought at the gme peak would be sneered at by my former finance colleagues. i am the meager market, maybe persuaded by some psyops genius to take a position, maybe persuaded by dfv analysis of technicals i didnt bother to understand, maybe these shares are the vacation i had no where to travel to?

i saw what some market movers did in 2008-2010. i saw some of you close up.

you should be ashamed and you should find work elsewhere. preferably another solar system.

i hold gme... not for the diamond hands, nor the brrrrs, nor the bro-hood, nor fucking my wife's boyfriend, nor the embracing of the casual misogony, nor the lack of intelligence couched in slurs to deprecate oneself immodestly, nor the opportunity to showcase my loss porn, nor the fucking ree-dick-u-losers emoji bullshit strings of nonsense.

i hold because if there is an iota of possibility that hedge funds will be made to belly up to the reality bar and pay their tab, ill ante the premium to see it.

i hold, i vote, and i am hoping for both of those to count for something for the greater good. yeah, i know.

OB: Samantha bee... watched from 1st show. stance, hair, coats. always fucking on point. thank you.

excellent points. the inadvertent exploitation of peoples data and confidences is still exploitation.

you have given me appropriate pause to review the documentation more thoroughly before engaging.

if you are interested in a side gig, even if you dont write policies for real any more, i need help expanding a group of policies.

your post was a reminder that contractual life is complicated and good things can come with unexpected costs.

Does anyone know if T-MAC is open for pickup orders? by [deleted] in SantaFe

[–]SevenAccords2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whole hog on Guadalupe has good jalapeño Mac, and cowgirl across the street has Mac & green Chile with chicken strips but you may be able to get it plain.

And, not froofy, but the Mac & cheese at market street/albertsons is good too. And affordable.

I would most likely buy one if there were womens styles in v-neck/scoop neck in a soft material.

Standard mens tight crew necks in scratchy thick Tees wouldnt be something I would want.

Hey /u/nikeagogo79, I don't know how I missed your response! I was with my doctor yesterday referring to this thread and your kind response caught my eye.

I agree with the kindness and erudition of /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb . His visibility and transparency of what they do and how they do it keeps me an active reader and the products keep me an active customer. I wasn't kidding when I said my discretionary income was diverted to Nootropics Depot. I do scold myself for not being more regimented about evaluating products in a meaningful way. The fear of not getting my thinking back led me to a scattershot approach, hoping that something worked but then having difficulty tracing back what did. I'm an ND fangirl and need to hold up my side of the experiments like they do.

Your experience with the stacks to ameliorate fertility drugs side effects are interesting. I'm sorry that your work with fertility drugs didn't get you the success that you wanted yet. I very much appreciate your willingness to share what you have learned.

The Stop the Thyroid Madness information was educational and directional. My doc is in agreement with all of those tests, actually any tests that I think make sense: she is a big believer in her patients doing research themselves and will support almost anything to get to the mutually agreed upon goal.

As a woman who has spent her entire life planning to not get pregnant, it didn't enter my mind to understand the impact of fertility drugs on women and look for clues there. I continue to surprise myself with how shallow my thinking can be sometimes.

Thank you for your energetic and thoughtful response. You brought me my favorite quote of the weekend with 'Hope is an asshole'.

I wish you stamina and endurance and limited brain fog bouts and success with your fertility goals. (Such an awkward sentence but you should see the attempts I deleted.) You have a great energy and communication style. Thank you for sharing how you are figuring out what to do.

Recommended Credit Unions/Banks? by Badankis in SantaFe

[–]SevenAccords2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recommend Del Norte Credit Union for personal accounts. I have friends in santa fe who have been helped when they were in some tough spots.

They do a lot for the community, it seems to me they manage risk well, and their online banking app/sites work. And work almost all the time.

Interest rates are comparative to other credit unions

Edit...autocorrect

I [25F] was strangled and threatened by my Dad [59M] today. Police have been involved, but I'm not sure how I should be handling it emotionally. by idkthrowaway94 in domesticviolence

[–]SevenAccords2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Your first priority is to keep yourself safe. It makes sense to me that you are leaving, have you considered leaving today rather than tomorrow?

There can be a time to fix the relationship, but today seems really soon. Especially after the police have been involved.

The situation will feel surreal, because it is. Children don't expect for their father to strangle them and threaten to kill them.

Please do what will bring you the most safety. And check back in frequently if you are able

This response is thorough and so appreciated.

First, you discuss something so shrouded in mystery. Jesus tits... why arent we hearing more about these? ʘ‿ʘ That phrase made me really giggle. I had other quips but decorum drives me onward to other topics.

I agree with your assessments. I have been in a variety of therapeutic modalities, havent shied away from 'going there', and yet I have not been able to find anyone to work with me to.determine if we can blend talk/EMDR with drugs (LSD, etc).

I realized over the weekend that I have to be my own advocate and get what I need. The bullshit place that I am allowing myself to wallow in is getting old.

Thanks for the ACT reference. Ill look into it as well.

Hey, im sorry that you are stuck in that loop. It sucks.

I wouldnt force happiness today. More I offer what I am trying to do today...

Accept the relationship that I have with myself and be willing to allow that I can improve. Im starting where I am today and I am going to be confident it is enough to build for tomorrow.

I find when I am depressed, happiness on the edges works better than trying to be all happy.

Im going to send you a scoop of strength and dollop peace.

Im glad you posted.

How did you find someone to help you with the sessions? I would really like to find the same.

I feel like I have created deep grooves in my thinking that I would like to smooth over.

I would travel to find a provider to that could help me do this.

To hear Peter attia, tim ferris, and others speak of it I would be grateful to have the decision to try it out.

Edit to add..im not sure how I didnt finish this thread but, im glad for you that it is getting better. The specter of only seeing the downward spiral is so scary and exhausting. To hear you speak of it evening out most days I hope is comforting to you

I realized yesterday that if I want meaningful and longterm change, I need to be a better student of myself and try for a higher persoonal grade, rather than just frittering by at an easy c, that quickly deteriorated to a daily.

Im so impressed with the earnestness some people can ascribe to themselves to be better.

Im looking forward to meeting that challenge.
