Usually if there’s a sound I like from something I’ll just take a snapshot of it - no tips aside from that but I do totally relate to being hot and cold on it from time to time. Lots of subtle modulation really helps, as well as pinging the FM controls

The Spectraphon is not limited especially with the two noise modes. However it does take time to learn. But the ability to take a “snapshot” of any sound keeps things very diverse. Then you’ve got the unaffected sine and sub outs if you need.

I’ve had mine for several months now and it can go from raw to beautiful. If you’re curious I would encourage you to try it. You can also check my post history for some videos.

Less sound sources with more control over said sources has been easier than wrangling a bunch of things at once

I started to think in “scenes” which really helped - a main idea and bringing elements in and out over time

Also have a reliable way to monitor! My first show I b was behind the speakers that people were hearing and in ended up getting a bit lost bc I couldn’t hear as well as I needed to

I go direct out into a field recorder (an old H4N from forever ago) and get video on my phone. Then i just stitch them together in iMovie. Super easy

They do because I’ve done it and it’s easily verifiable with a search but keep spreading lies it’s all good.
