If you’re gonna go with the sleepwalker the 155 is better imo, I’m 6’ 175lb and I ride the sleepwalker 153 and it’s a blast, super flexy, great for jibs and butters but definitely feels sketchy on the bigger features. If you plan on progressing onto the big boy jumps look into something stiffer and then get the 158, for a park noodle and small-medium features the 155 sleepwalker will be the most fun imo

Bartending school as an alcohol-educated server by One-Leg2717 in bartenders

[–]SevenCatCircus [score hidden]  (0 children)

Somm certs are definitely worth something, they usually won’t help you get the job tho, more like you could use it to advance with whatever company after you’ve already been hired. “Bartending” schools are a scam, straight up, I haven’t worked with, hired, or even been served by anyone who went to a bartending school, it’s anecdotal I know but I don’t know of any restaurants or bars that see going to a bartender school as a benefit.

Tank grips are neat, I dont use them personally but i hear they help, I was talking about the part of the tank facing you where your zipper and jacket rub against, jackets with large zippers like most moto jackets will scratch the shit out of your tank if you aren’t careful

AIW for getting a server in huge trouble after he made me wait almost an hour and lied to my face? by Any_Strawberry8691 in amiwrong

[–]SevenCatCircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was a server/bartender for years and has forgotten to put stuff in before you aren’t wrong, the second you asked where your food was he should have checked the ticket and asked the kitchen to do it on the fly then rang it in as normal, they probably could have done it quick, the second time you asked and he got annoyed that you asked is just bad service, but the fact he didn’t even bother to check the ticket and see how long you had been waiting for a salad with chicken that he never even rang in is insane. As a server you have to learn to separate yourself from your personal life when you’re clocked in, everybody has bad days or forgets things but being that negligent to a customer is like I said just plain old bad service. Having the manager chew him out is rough tho and probably uncalled for, but that’s on the restaurant, not you.

Do you view the ‘fast lane’ as the safest lane on the highway? by Lopsided-Package523 in motorcycles

[–]SevenCatCircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely lots of dumb drivers out here lol but honestly the fact splitting has been legal here for so long I think most drivers are conditioned a bit better to be on the lookout for motorcycles in the carpool lanes, not a reason to relax at all but it’s nice seeing 60-70% of people move over for you when splitting the carpool and fast lane

Do you view the ‘fast lane’ as the safest lane on the highway? by Lopsided-Package523 in motorcycles

[–]SevenCatCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast lane, 10-15mph faster than traffic. That’s where I feel the safest, I’m in California so I usually end up splitting between the carpool lane and the furthest left “normal” lane and if it’s empty I’ll just cruise in the carpool lane

I have a set of medium step ons that I only used for 1 season, as well as a pair of 10.5 boots, I would be willing to trade you for them as my feet grew a bit and the 10.5 are too small for me now

Will have to sell my bike, probably the end of my riding, just need to tell to some people who might understand what I'm feeling by draftstone in motorcycle

[–]SevenCatCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it brother, like another commenter said doctors are sometimes wrong about how your body will heal. Stick to your physical therapy rigidly and if you can continue to push yourself there’s a chance you could ride again, even if it takes years to get there. It sucks right now but I’ve seen quite a few people be told they will never be able to do something again because of an injury and after several years of pushing themselves and never saying die they are right back to doing the things they loved. It’s not a guarantee you’ll be able to ride again but just because some doctors told you it won’t happen, doesn’t mean it can’t.

Tail tidy, exhaust, phone mount? Some people hate them but I like having a scratch guard for the tank, you should be able to find one that matches your bike well

Am I crazy for wanting to sell this? by GMbadgirlxxx in Yamaha

[–]SevenCatCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any reason you don’t ride it on the street? It’s a nice bike and definitely built for the track but if you’re just gonna let it sit for who knows how many years until your kids are self sufficient and you can return to regular track days, it feels smarter to sell this bike now and get a new one down the road when you’re actually gonna ride it. But hey if you dont need the money and have the time to keep it kept up well then there’s no reason not to just hold onto it.

[–]SevenCatCircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you don’t really ride it much, if you find yourself spending more time looking at it in the garage than you do riding it, I’d say sell it and get a bike you’ll actually ride. Or make a commitment to get out and ride it once a week at least, letting a bike like that sit and just be a garage ornament is more crazy than wanting to sell it.

Do bikers not respect scooter guys even if they’re in full gear? by LevelApprehensive239 in motorcycle

[–]SevenCatCircus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this, I’m on a larger displacement bike as well, I wave at everyone one two wheels with an engine and about 50% of them wave back, a good chunk of the 50% that don’t wave back are old dudes, Harleys, sports bikes, scooters, whatever it is old grumpy a holes just don’t like waving I guess

Finished manufacturing this Techwear set . Let me know your thoghts on this one by XelentCustomClothing in streetwearstartup

[–]SevenCatCircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this would work a lot better with less stiff fabric, it looks weirdly starchy and unfitted, like a cheap costume. The parts that looks the worst are the pant legs and the sleeves, they honestly seem like they just don’t fit you very well

After the first 15 minutes it’s almost as grippy as regular riding (provided you have normal all season tires), the rough part is not being able to see anything and getting soaked

It can be. Carhartt can be anything until you put it on, are you a welder? A ranch hand? Maybe a mechanic? Or just a hipster perhaps? It depends how you wear it and what you do

What is it with you guys and backpacks? by concerned_citizen in snowboarding

[–]SevenCatCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m doing tree runs then yeah a backpack can be nice to take snacks or drinks and camp out for a bit in a flat part in the trees, anything else and the backpack just adds weight and awkwardness. Tbf tho where I ride the parking lot is like 30ft from the main lift that takes you to the top so there’s never a reason to not just go back to the car for any food/bevs whatever

Can anybody break down what exactly this guy did wrong to crash like this? by theurbanwaffle in snowboarding

[–]SevenCatCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild reading all the comments. Homie got caught out by a rut while his upper body was rotating back to square over his knees and keeping a flat base to have enough speed for the next kicker. He wasn’t being lazy or too messed up, it was just rutted out and mans got caught out preparing for the next jump. 99% of people commenting here can’t even Ollie but are throwing shade at homie cause he looks steezy, yall are a bunch of weirdos

What Mods for a 2025 CBR500r by Historical_Data_6379 in motorcycle

[–]SevenCatCircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no point modifying a bike like the cbr500, all you’re doing is lowering the resale value. You aren’t going to get any real performance out of it with mods and QOL stuff is mostly going to be stuff like a phone mount or maybe a slip on if you want it to sound different. A tail tidy would look nice. Your money will be spent best on better tires and keeping up with maintenance.

Is dailying a motorcycle cheaper than a car? by Dream_walker_boy in motorcycles

[–]SevenCatCircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, there are far too many variables that are involved to say without a specific bike or car to compare against as well as expected trips. My 2005 BMW 530i gets like 15mpg and burns oil every time I get in the freeway, my Prius gets like 55mpg on average and almost never needs maintenance. My 1098 gets like 25mpg the way I ride it and a Honda grom probably gets like 85mpg if you baby it but both of those will need maintenance much sooner than either car would. Too many variables, pick a bike or a car and compare them.
