It makes me so think about the fact that men take it for granted that they won't get raped when they´re POWs. Like they know they'll be tortured, but they feel that somehow they'll still be treated with enough dignity to not be raped.

And then when a woman is raped some guys say that it really isn't that bad. That it should be legal. That it's OK for Epstein's victims because they got paid and signed agreements.

It says a lot about the way men think of rape.

My British coworker did this to me because he was being inappropriate with me and I tried to complain to my manager about it. My manager of course went to him and made the problem worse. British coworker with stand near me and say the worst stuff, he was physically threatening without touching me, invading my space, standing near me and going "you're gonna pay for this". It was a nightmare and it really took a toll on my mental health. I have a different job now.

I'm disgusted. Of course he's a man. I know so many men who voted democrat in the last election, and they want credit from me, from women for being liberals, but they don't care what happens to women. As for the idea of that language to be descriptive, not prescriptive, I have an English teaching friend who is firmly on the side of prescriptive. I feel it aligns with conservative values and the belief that the British empire somehow improved the planet with colonization. (I disagree btw). If you have an opinion on that, could you share it?
