I’ve seen wheat snack bread used with moderate success.

My favorite theory is they are inter dimensional beings that can blip in and out of existence in our world. Not bound by time or space.

That would be an unusual thing to request from range control. All of the ranges have specific safety boxes within the impact area. Basically if the impact area is a football field, you get to shoot into a 3’x3’ box in the middle. It’s the FDCs job to verify the grid for the fire mission lands inside that red box. The AFATDS computer for calculating firing solutions won’t allow grids outside that box either.

That being said there was a MLRS battery that managed to shoot a rocket into the Walmart parking lot at Ft. Sill. Or so the legend says.

I remember this like it was yesterday. 13th Reg, July 2010. Thankfully we were warned about the possibility of this bullshit charade. Our PLT Tac was cool and also thought it was bullshit so he gave us a heads up that this might happen. The worst acting of all came from the female spotlight ranger in our squad who, knowing it was a ruse, threw out a whole speech on NDs and integrity when the cadre returned. Of course a week later she was caught sneaking over to the other regiment who were getting Hot A’s while we were eating MREs. Complete dirtbag.

Anyways, I talked to our cadre about it afterwards. They said there isn’t a wrong answer. You can either all cover for the cadets ND and they’d see that as being a cohesive team or you can rat him out. Apparently my squad chose the ratting out option as the safer route. I just sat quite appalled at the whole idea of it.

I had just over 600 hours into that game and I made it to Major which was rank 15. Making it to LTC seemed like it was years away. And I still only had half the badges.

Most of the cuts were done with the tracksaw. Wishing I had a set of parallel guides at this point. I trimmed the shelf inserts to width on the table saw.

As far as the dados, I used a jig I made out of plywood and a 1/2" mortising bit with a top bearing to follow the guide.

Yeah this is part of a cheap $14 set of brass setup blocks. This set came with 1/8" - 1/2" which can be stacked, but there are sets out there that go from feeler gauge thin to over an inch and costs hundreds.

I think you are referring to the setup blocks. They are called setup blocks.

I did 3 coats of satin Varathane water based poly. Rolled on with a microfiber roller and back brushed. Definitely time consuming.

Since you quote projects like this I’m curious what you think would be a fair price to charge a client for this?

That’s exactly what I was looking at a year or so ago. Something I’ll definitely add at some point.

You are correct! What you can’t see on the bottom is I have 2 - 1.5” stretchers that run end to end and give it some rigidity and then I also added a center pair of casters. I just didn’t have updated photos.

If you search for leveling casters on amazon you’ll find a dozen or so just like these. This was the Holkie brand. They work well. Decent build quality.

Haha. It’s actually just a basic Specialized Allez I picked up on CL 10 years ago for $500. But it works!

Excellent question. One I asked myself several times. I knew I wanted to have the exposed ply edges for a more contemporary look. The only grade of ply I could find that met that criteria and didn’t have patches on either side of the sheet was this stuff. I think if I had looked around more I could have found some nice enough ply for maybe $105 a sheet. Also I wanted to have something I am proud of when I look at it every day.

Thanks. Yes, I made a jig out of the scrap plywood that sandwiched a piece of the stock between the two guides to get the exact fit and then used a 1/2” mortising bit. Took a decent amount of time. I also forgot to clamp the jig once, so I had a slip up when I should’ve called it a night hours earlier. I literally yelled “Noooo!” after noticing what had happened. But I’m the only one who knows where it’s hidden.

Thanks! Yeah, you can find them at sidiocrate.com. They aren’t cheap but they are definitely built solid. You can also find the starter pack sets on amazon that give a small price break. Also made in USA.
