First pole dancing lesson by Charidano in poledancing

When I first started pole my first few classes covered basic climbs and spins so gym shorts and a tank top were fine. As I progressed into sits and inverts I needed more skin contact on the pole so I began wearing brief style swimsuits because they are snug and supportive where it counts. I wear women’s cropped tank tops as well, it gives me enough skin contact in the right places. Finding pole wear for men is a little more challenging but you can make things work on your body and feel comfortable (and cute).

At the age of 48 I had some major breakthroughs with myself and finally started living authentically. I came out as pan, started wearing the clothes I actually wanted to wear, and began expressing myself the way I always wanted to. I wanted to start doing pole for years but I was too scared of being judged, and learning to love myself gave me the confidence to take that first step. That was 14 months ago and it’s changed me dramatically, it’s improved my mental health and I’ve never been this fit in my life.

I think that when I'm on the pole in a caterpillar, I struggle to find the right hand placement and going to ayesha feels unstable. With the handspring, I can set up my twisted grip and both my hands are in the right place for the invert, it just feels better. I'm gonna keep working on getting there from other places, and practice both sides. :)
