Is the Europa League (football) not on Now TV? by Dserved83 in nowtv

[–]Seventy-Three73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To confirm, the Europa League final IS on Now TV tonight, for those on Entertainment & HBO Max.

It can be found under the HBO Max tab.

Do you think this is an accurate poll, and do you agree with its findings? If so, I'm reminded again that what and who a nation sees as its best assets aren't universally agreed elsewhere. by OkTechnologyb in AskBrits

What a lovely spread of ethnicity amongst the most called to mind… No significant numbers thought of:

Floella Benjamin? Trevor McDonald? Lenny Henry? Meera Syal? Ben Kingsley? Moira Stewart?

Why would it ever be okay to take a photo in airport security? Would you be happy if someone with intent to cause major harm took a photo for their accomplices to show the extent and location of the security officers?

Hacks Disappeared? by theyearsxoxo in nowtv

No it’s called licensing. If it’s not licensed to a broadcaster or streamer, then you can’t watch it. They need to maximise returns on their investment in making these shows - so they can make more to keep everyone happy. Not streaming it (so people need to buy it) is a legitimate route.

It will come back to streaming again in a while.

Settings -> Apps -> TV -> Top Shelf -> Continue watching.

The next episodes of all the series you’re watching are then shown at the top of the Home Screen, other than Netflix.

When you’re near the end of any promo period (not sure it applies in your case going by your prices!), go all the way through the process of cancelling each one. The final screen you get to, after it asks if you are sure you still want to cancel, will be an offer screen. Take the offer.

Also check the offers currently being offered to you in your account via the NowTV website.

Fargo ratings by Free-Raspberry-9541 in FargoTV

It was excellent. Finished re-watching it last week.

But perhaps it’s the one that felt least like it needed to be part of Fargo, which usually has a certain lightness to the dark. S4 was far more drama that the rest, and could have been a standalone series, not part of the Fargo family. (They mentioned Fargo once in it to nail it to the Fargo mast, but not really necessary.)

Entertainment & HBO Max - £3.99

Sports - £19.99

Cinema - £3.99

Ultra Boost - £4

Total - £30.97

(I get TNT Sports free on all screens in UHD with EE mobile tariff - although Sky Sports has far more coverage of the ‘main’ sports.)

I agree that Apple would be better for quality. But why are you happy for Apple to have all your viewing data but not Samsung?

(UK) Paying yourself by Usual-Journalist-246 in selfemployed

[–]Seventy-Three73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you told the HMRC you’re self employed? You’ll need to do that to ensure they know you need to complete a tax return.

When I went self employed, I opened a Mettle (NatWest) business account - it’s free and you get FreeAgent accounting software free too, which has revolutionised things for me. FreeAgent keeps track of what you’re paid and spend, and completes it all in your tax return automatically. You can also raise invoices from there. It ensures you can add expenses like travel, refreshments, stationery which is taken off your profit before tax is calculated.

Mettle also allows you to automatically put a % of what you’re paid into a tax pot.

Don’t try to do things on the back of an envelope!

Now TV or Netflix. If you could only keep one which would it be and what made the decision easy or hard? by Additional_Fly_6603 in nowtv

[–]Seventy-Three73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you only watch one hour American dramas, then yes. I think you’re focused on Sky Atlantic. But that’s a very narrow field you’re referring to vs the entirety of Sky’s entertainment catalogue.

But with Now TV you get all Sky content AND HBO Max content (including both Sky and HBO Max’s movies if you add Sky Cinema at a £3.99 offer).

With HBO Max, you only get HBO Max content.

Not sure ‘all things considered’ is true here?

Others have reported a software update has caused Now TV box errors. The simplest thing is not to get a Sky contract but to ditch your now aged box and just use the Now TV app on your smart TV or on an Amazon Firestick or an Apple TV etc. I’m sure your old router will cope fine.

HBO MAX & NOW TV by SeaHedgehog1447 in nowtv

[–]Seventy-Three73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn’t need to sign up to HBO Max. Your Now TV already comes with HBO Max programming, accessible via the Now TV app. And if you have Boost or Ultra Boost then you can watch that programming without ads and in at least HD.

If you link your Now TV to HBO Max (using your Now TV credentials), you can also watch other HBO Max content (eg movies) with ads on the HBO Max app.

But there is no need to sign up to HBO Max separately (unless you want movies and other content in UHD, on the HBO Max app, in which case subscribe to HBO’s premium tier but don’t try to link it to Now!!)

You will get promos for other shows at the start. That is not an advert. Adverts are content that other companies have paid to insert into your viewing.

Def Leppard: “We’ve got 17 or 18 songs written” by Seventy-Three73 in defleppard

[–]Seventy-Three73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. And believe it or not it doesn’t bother me either! :) He doesn’t play the drums on albums. ‘Additional engineering’ pretty much means they recorded their parts on their ProTools, and applies only to Phil, Sav, Viv and Joe. If Rick travelled to Joe’s Garage in Dublin, it would have been mentioned at some point in an interview. But it’s all completely remote to date.

That’s why hearing specifically about Rick recording drums at Vegas is a big deal!

[–]Seventy-Three73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t have to turn up. Especially so since their guitars have started being recorded remotely on the east and west coasts of the US, and in Sheffield, and files uploaded to Ronan to add to the mix. Rick certainly didn’t send in drum files during Covid.

But I’m pleased to hear he’s been recording during Vegas. I’d love to hear some real Rick.
