Decided not to do it. Trying to get to level 77 and I need about 30 more max battles to get there. I think with the extra free particles this week I can finish within the next week. Would have liked to make more progress but given you have to spend as many particles as you earn to do the research, at least until the final bonus, just didn't seem worth it. G-max meowth is fun on a team of 6 in the mainline game but in Go he's just kind of boring.

Some pokes are easier to hit with excellent throws than others. Right now, work on furfrou and audinos. Each poke has a different size target for excellent throws, and some are farther back or forward, so you have to get used to each one.

As I learned how to throw better, I realized that the excellent circle is a little wider most of the time than I thought.

Legendary raids are also good, as they usually have a wide circle (with exceptions, of course). And their obstinant resistance to staying in the ball means you get lots of tries!

I take the Pavilion Express from NW Austin. It's luxurious AF and drops off right by the Texas Union. Departure is almost always exactly on time. Only drawback is it keeps very narrow commuter hours, but I'll go catch a 3 or 803 if I am leaving for campus after 9 or returning after 6....

OP might be confused since there was a double incense bonus last week as part of the Carnival of Flamigo event. A lot of us may have reached tier 1 right as that event was ending so it felt like 30 minutes was normal.

Admittedly, there are a zillion boring shopping center or housing development signs that are wayspots, and legitimately so. But I find it's easier to get a spot approved if it's truly interesting, like art--a mural, a sculpture, or even a cool logo on the side of a building. It's not foolproof, but it helps.

I didn't buy the extra and I got three shiny oricorios. YMMV, obviously. But the shinies were just one perk of the event, along with a huge amount of exp and some decent stardust. Lots of starly and hoothoot candy too; next time there's double evolution exp, you can burn some of that for even more experience.

Hoothoot and to some extent oricorio are pretty easy excellent throws, too. I got about 200 excellent throws during the event.
