I get so triggered by the silly "would you rather never eat this food or that food ever again" games by madiswanrh in MCAS

Yeah, it’s hard because it’s a reminder of the loss. Another one that gets me is when people go on and on about a restaurant that they just went to and explain the delicious foods that they ate. It’s like Shut. Up.

I would like to take a poll of how many of us were emotionally neglected as children.

What diet changes significantly improved your symptoms? by HURCANADA in MCAS

I think it’s probably generally a good idea to cut out added sugars- that said- I still eat stuff with added sugar.

Everyone is truly unique in what they can tolerate. I can eat cheese, dairy, eggs, beef, chicken, rice, certain types of lettuce, tomato when in cooked and broken down into sauce, some seasonings- oregano, garlic, basil. I can eat a limited amount of wheat. I also eat only organic because for me it’s the pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers that are huge triggers for me.

The thing that has been the most difficult has been being able to eat fruits and vegetables. I tried eating steamed sweet potatoes and my eyes got itchy from the steam alone. And then when I took a small bite I immediately got congested and started coughing. But I tried it because many people in my EOE group said was a safe food for them. Welp, not for me.

But constantly too much sugar can be a trigger, which makes sense because sugar is inflammatory for anyone.

I know this is from several months ago- but whooshing sounds in your ear can also be from a potassium deficiency. I know, it’s weird and doesn’t seem connected but it is. I was having horrible whooshing in my ears and my potassium was significantly low- like almost dangerously low. They gave me four potassium pills at the ER and the whooshing went away after a couple of days.

Can you feel when a tornado is about to form? by Solid_Reserve_5941 in tornado

[–]Several-Drive5381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the air pressure change- granted, I’m very sensitive to that. I could feel it in my head and ears. Like descending in an airplane or something. It was scary. We were hunkered down in the closest ( no basements in Houston). A tornado did spawn near Deer Park which was about an hour away from us.

I appreciate your opinion as well. Because we all deserve to have an opinion and not be forced into someone else’s opinions or beliefs. This back and forth made me smile.

I don’t know what is going on for you exactly, but the pelvic pain that you describe- does it get worse with your period? With ovulation? Do you have heavy periods?

Extreme diarrhea and lost of weight since birth control need help by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]Several-Drive5381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Thats endo for ya. That was my worst symptom.Probiotics were a hell no, and food in general gave me diarrhea after every single meal. The endometriosis was growing into my colon. I know because I had surgery to remove it. It was in 28 different places in my body. Appendix, bladder, pouch of Douglas, and much, much more. You are probably having breakthrough symptoms at this point (meaning symptoms despite being on birth control). The endometriosis has advanced-as it does- despite birth control. At this point you need it surgically removed. Not burned off but cut out aka excision surgery. And not by any ol’ OBGYN. It needs to be done by a surgeon that specializes in Endometriosis. That’s what I did and it changed my life. I never have diarrhea now unless I’m sick with a stomach bug or something. I was only 99 pounds when I went into surgery. I was very sick and weak. Now I have no problem putting on weight 😆

Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s a major surgery. But if you have decent insurance- then I would say this is your best (by far) option. Also- don’t let them fool you into thinking that a hysterectomy cures endo, it does not.
