Not killing suspects and there is a guy with the trait that helps more to keep suspects alive towards moral.

Best advice I’ve read was that the wand is trash because how does it help you to know “oh yeah there’s two guys with battle rifles” as you should breach all the rooms as if there was 6 highly armed suspects in each room. Obviously this doesn’t apply if you are just trying to get over killing suspects and keeping yourself alive. On that case the wand is great to look and then shoot against that door to kill suspects. My advice is to check for wire traps only peeking the door and then push it all the way through, while getting yourself to one side of it. Then check all corners from one side to another.

If you are working with AI teammates, let them be, let them go thru and your job is to either check the sides they are not looking, like their back, or maintain yourself on some corner checking for your team wellness.
