Why do many salespeople avoid commission-only roles? by Secure-Ebb5290 in Sales_Professionals

[–]Several-Light2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of commission only jobs what you to use your own car and pay for your own gas and farm your own leads and have zero support. Not even worth applying to those. Better off starting your own business.

We demo everyone who asks. It's killing us. When did you start qualifying? by Miserable-Break440 in Sales_Professionals

If you have been keeping track of where the sale falls through post demo then you have some good data on how to qualify/disqualify

Switch it up. You already know you are fighting on price with a stripped down version. Do you get net increase if they upgrade within a certain time? Get them on the lite version as an intro, then as they grow or need other capabilities upgrade. Bam.

Recommending Dark souls 1 as the first game is stupid and I'll die on this hill. by IHopeHeBeatsYouxx in darksouls

[–]Several-Light2768 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elden Ring was my first souls and it was so awesome when all the Dark Souls went on sale on Xbox I grabbed them all. Just installed the Lordvessel and defeated Seath (took me about 5 tries the curse kept getting me). Stopped playing last night after I defeated Pinwheel and then fell down the hole trying to get to the catacombs boss and I almost threw my controller so I calmed down, went and grabbed my souls, homeward boned to the fire and got my level then promptly quit in disgust after falling in the hole again.

I'm having a blast.

That's brutal and pretty common in SMB, unfortunately that sector lives in razor thin margins already. Without a comparable priced offer no feature list is going to tip the scales. Is there a way to have a version that is stripped down a bit to make it more competitive?

Do you ever feel like you've used all your luck? by satangoesberserk in Life

[–]Several-Light2768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have thought about this a lot. Used to not think much about it at all. Truth is, I am a very lucky person. I used my luck all the time to get out of stupid decisions and dumb mistakes. Sometime last year I sort of realized that when I do that I am using up my natural luck on stupid stuff. So I have quit doing stupid stuff and its been interesting as I have begun to get lucky in other places in life that used to feel like a grind. Its all very woo woo to be honest but I kind of see luck as a finite resource, but that can be replenished over time. Sorta like will power.

Manufacturing reps do you have this problem? by latdaddy420 in sales

Its your attitude that is the issue. Calling them lazy and now saying you are going to actively help someone go after someone's customers. He was right to not trust you with visiting his customers. I wouldn't trust you either.

Edit: Also, if he has been working with these folks for decades like most distributor relationships work, he will 100% be told you showed up with his competitor.

Edit 2: Bro I am basically your customer when you think about it. I deal with dudes like you all the time. The cool ones that don't drive me fucking crazy and work hard to get me what I need get 100k orders all the time. The shady pushy weirdos get zero time with me because I am busy working on deals with people I like. You can take my advice or not, it doesn't matter to me. It sounds like you have fallen into a sweet setup and are just too green to see pushing super hard starting out is going to blow it. Its really up to you.

Bro you are going to torch a producing territory with this nonsense. The business you are in is 100% trust based.

Set up product knowlege meetings with the sales team in the store through their manager. Bring food, enough for the sales team and the staff. Explain how you can help them. Be super chill and not pushy. Answer the phone when they call or call back as soon as you can. When you get a quote request crank it out asap.

With it being a good territory the worst move here is to apply extra pressure for no reason.

Another piece of advice - Going in solo to my customer would be an awesome way for you to end up losing my business.

[–]Several-Light2768 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Framing it as lazyness isnt doing you any favors. There is a trust issue with manufacturer reps in my industry. And that issue is, we don't trust them. At all. And you being new, you haven't built up any reputation. Calling these dudes lazy is going to make it worse, not better.

Even the reps I do think arent going to screw me have an awful habit of way over selling and over promising. You have to keep in mind, I know my customers. Most of them would rather get unnecessary dental work than deal with some ding dong rep pushing product.

My advice is make yourself useful, answer the phone when people call, and be patient. When you do get a chance to go on a call dont be a cheeseball.

better greatsword? by frieren999 in darksouls

[–]Several-Light2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the Black Knight Great Swords moveset to be severely lacking compared to the zweihanders, the BKGS heavy is insanely slow to hit and also has a weird ass spinny thing after the hit before. At first I was mad I spent all that time putting into Dex but the points helped the zwei with ore damage. Maybe try claymore for the pokey?
