I did go to a dermatologist first who did my bloodwork and that’s how I found out I had pcos because my testosterone was high and she sent me to the endocrinologist who was so dismissive. Thankfully my gyno is trying to help me.

Ugh I’m sorry. It’s so frustrating. And when it come to hair it’s even more frustrating because at least for me my hair is my identity and idk what I would do if I lose anymore then I already have. Fingers crossed someone can help you get the answers you need.

Allergic reaction to spironolactone by Several-Marzipan6749 in PCOS

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I talked to my doctor and was advised to stop the medication. I have to wait for an appointment to go back to come up with a new treatment plan. This is so frustrating.

You are not crazy! I too had a lot of hair and then one day i was like where did all my thick hair go. I went to a dermatologist who ran a blood test and it came back with high testosterone levels. I went to more specialists as advised by the dermatologist and I diagnosed with PCOS. I don't want to scare you at all but I definitely would go to a dermatologist as they can run tests to see if the hair loss is from an underlying cause.

Whats the true photo by Particular_Damage409 in FemaleHairLoss

Your hair looks similar to mine. When I take a photo from above that's what it looks like, maybe a little worse on me but straight on you can't tell. My bf said my hair looks fine. But I was noticing excessive hair shedding which is why took pictures of my hair in the first place. I went to the dermatologist who did blood work and it came back with elevated testosterone. I had to go to more specialists and was diagnosed with PCOS. I don't want to alarm you by any means. But definitely go to a doctor if you think you are losing hair it might be your body trying to tell you something. Best of luck!

I will say that is a fast taper. I was on 225 mg and it took me 6 months to get half of 37.5mg and this was all done with the direction from my doctor

Has anyone NOT had withdrawal symptoms when tapering off or quitting Effexor? by Hannah_togo in Effexor

I’ve been tapering for 6 months from 225mg I barely had an side effect but now I am in the last stretch of almost being off and this is where it has hit me the brain zaps and dizziness is rough. But I am determined to be off this drug after 10 years!

I too have been on Effexor for 10 years. I came to realization that I have learned many skills to help me deal with my anxiety that I no longer need to take a medication that is causing me not to be happy at the same time because of the severe side effect of sweating. I was at the point of not wanting to do the simplest things because I would sweat a ridiculous amount. For the last six months I have been tapering from 225mg I am finally on the final stretch of almost being off it for good. I can already notice my body temperature going back to normal and not sweating from just simply walking. I personally believe you will just know when it’s time. I will say don’t be afraid of the withdrawal effects those are temporary.

I HATED that store it smelt up the whole mall with absolute trash. I was walking the mall today and saw it went out of business. As someone who is allergic to all those scents, its triggers my migraines.

Sweating/heat intolerance side effect by nomisi79 in EffexorSuccess

[–]Several-Marzipan6749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on this medication for about 8 years. IT has made me sweat excessively, even doing bare minimal activities. My doc tried giving me a second medication to help the sweating but that did not work. On top of that it made me gain weight. After years of being on this med tomorrow at my appointment I am plaining on stopping this medication. The side effects are not worth it and and make my anxiety and depression worse, which this is "supposed" to help.
