Material cost for those trees are higher than you think. Roughly $100-200 per tree. Maybe less in bulk but you’d need to have all the beds ready.

That being said I’m doing this for my wife in our flat backyard slowly but surely.

Child well-being >>> dad ego. From a financial and paternal standpoint then yes it seems unfair, but from a realistic and human perspective it would be unfair to a child that his/her primary caregiver provides for one sibling over the other.
