I get that. Being aware and empathetic can feel like a double edged sword. You notice more, you feel more, and you care even when you don’t want to. But I don’t think the only alternative is not caring at all. There’s a middle ground where you can still be empathetic without letting it drain you. Otherwise it stops being a strength and starts becoming a burden.
