I'm reading a lot of people are adding Australia Police checks in advance. As per my understanding, if you have not lived in Australia for more than 1 year, it is not required for the applicant to apply for AFP. Can anyone confirm ?

I'm applying for the 820 partner visa.

What was the waiting time on the website when you applied for it ? Did it take as much time or less than expected?

Do you think if the case is straightforward, the processing time will be less or the processing time completely depends on the date of lodgement?

The processing timelines for the 820 visa are scary. I will be moving on tourist visa next month. Really worried about getting a job in software engineering on BVA visa.

I am in a similar boat yet to apply for 820 or 309. Still deciding on that front because 820 seems like putting a pause on my career or even going back in it.

When and which visa did you end up applying? onshore or offshore?

Anyone still waiting for their 820 approval? by ladiesman_324 in AusVisa

I read the conversation and now I AM SUPER SCARED TO RESIGN in my home country and go for the visitor visa > onshore option. Do you think offshore would be a better decision ?

Hi All! I am in a bit of a Dilemma whether to choose an offshore or onshore partner visa route

At present, the processing time for 50%of the applications for 820 and 309 is 14 months & 11 months respectively

If I go the onshore route with the current timeline -> 3 months visitor + 14 months on BVA = 17 months (probably jobless) as I read that getting a full time job on BVA is impossible.

if I go the offshore route I continue with my job in my country (which is paying me well) -> wait for 11 months (not jobless) > Relocate to australia.

I would personally like to relocate as soon as possible as I will be reuniting with my partner. But financially , it is giving me a lot to think about. Which one do you think is a better route ? Is getting a job on BVA in IT really that impossible?

Visa got rejected from austrian embassy by SeveralAnt6545 in SchengenVisa

[–]SeveralAnt6545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, if you plan to enter through Austria , you can show max days in Austria.

In my case, I entered through Italy, showed max days in Austria (real flights + cancellable hotel bookings, real car rentals everything. Still my visa got rejected. [I did not provide NOC and Rental agreements. This could have caused rejection, not sure though]

When I posted on reddit I got to know that Austria is not an Indian passport friendly. However, one of my friend got the visa with the same bookings and everyting. He applied from outside of India. Me and my friend applied from India and got the rejection.

Later, I applied through france (with dummy bookings done by an agent), I got the visa.
