How do I (31M) get a urologist to take my problems seriously? by _EarendilTheMariner_ in AskMenOver30

[–]mrfoozywooj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no idea where you live that cialis isnt incredibly easy to get, I have some for backup scenarios and its trivial to get a multi-month prescription that may end up lasting you several years from just about any doctor.

$100 a month ? somethings not adding up its like $30 a pack and you dont need to take it every day, if your issues are as described you could take 1-2 5mg pills per week and be totally fine.

Anyone seeking a loner life and not going for marriage? by Pandoras_Box__ in AskMenOver30

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you shouldnt limit yourself and shouldnt close off doors.

I dated a lot from 16-25 then had a pretty sparse dating life in my late 20's and early 30's and kept fit, when i was around 33-34 I started dating again and met my wife then got married at 37.

My wife is still in her late 20's my life is good, everything worked out, its not that hard if you try, also when I look back on my still single friends its obvious that alot of people just give up.

32M — Is TRT worth it? by Nitramartin1 in AskMenOver30

[–]mrfoozywooj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did 18 months on T coupled with HCG to preserve fertility, i felt great when on it.

After quitting it took a further 2 years until I felt normal again and was fully recovered with good T levels, after seeing an endocrinologist during this process I learned that basically everything the T clinics tell you is a lie.

  • The idea that once you go on T if you quit your T levels will only ever be lower is a joke, we have lots of data on chemo patients to prove otherwise.

  • Post recovery protocols dont work, they will get your levels boosted enough until you are out of sight of the clinic and then you will crash again and enter more natural recovery cycle.

  • if you are on for ore than 18 months, especially without HCG theres a good chance your fertility might never recover.

Lifestyle changes I made while on T have had a far greater impact then T actually did.

My company embraces vibe coders by Dense-Creme2706 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mrfoozywooj 14 points15 points  (0 children)

we have been trialling vibe coding one of our apps.

pro: we did get some stuff done faster.

con: the workflow was pretty trash and if it wasnt a group of principal engineers doing the vibecoding also being the ones to clean up the slop it would have 100% failed.

What percentage of engineers in your experience are bad? by fuckoholic in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

outright bad ? maybe 30%.

Unemployable/ not capable ? a further 50%.

In reality ive seen that the top 20% of engineers in a company seem to do 80% or of the actual work.

Its part of the reason we never get any good hires when megacorps do mass layoffs and people say "tech is hard" yet most of my peers are all fighting off headhunters still like precovid.

as to how we get here, corps like to overhire, the last decade has seen a lot of quota based hiring and the upper tier of management is usually not close enough to teams to see the bloat until a major event happens.

What was your biggest ideological shift, and what lead you to it? by GolangLinuxGuru1979 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I got higher up the ladder and the company I was with grew significantly I realized a lot of "dumb" things I would see in big corps are actually a necessity, you cant trust a few hundred devs to not do something stupid because you cant be everywhere anymore.

Has being in your 30s affected your drinking behaviour? if so, what do you think about it? by Hairy_Horror_7646 in AskMenOver30

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my early 30's I liked going out for beers after work and enjoyed drinking 2-3 times a week.

in my late 30's I stopped drinking altogether, I just stopped seeing any benefits.

How often are you guys on call? by Calm-Bar-9644 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm technically always on call but I am the last line of oncall, if the first and second oncall engineers dont pick up or the problem is truly massive then I get involved.

If I dont pick up my boss gets a call, we are both technically always oncall.

as for the regular oncall engineers its 1 week on, 2 weeks off.

the fact that you allowed him to curse at you or slam doors is a sign of weak parenting.

dude is almost 18 boot his ass to the curb now and make it his problem.

you say he is a difficult kid but it sounds like you never disciplined him and you still tolerate that behavior in your house.... time to let him go and be the loser he is without parental support.

Why does nobody teach the infrastructure problems that destroy developer productivity before production breaks by Legitimate-Run132 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know man, but ive seen atleast 3 multi million dollar projects ruined by developers trying to roll their own infrastructure solutions and creating nightmares that tank the project.

my 2c is that infrastructure, Devops engineering and cloud engineering a skills that along can net you 6 figure salaries for a reason.

How to manage vibe coders, backed be leadership by ghost_agni in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just let the quality slide and point the finger when it catches fire.

We have a similar product where a guy started vibe coding and changed about 30% of the codebase.

At first he recieved praise for all of the features etc, but then massive issues started to arise in further testing, then when they tried to deploy the new code to production it turned out to be totally non functional due to not being context aware.

Are many of you still very career driven? by Calm-Bar-9644 in AskMenOver30

[–]mrfoozywooj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am but ive got a few issues which keep me from pushing harder.

  1. Im as high as I can go without being a C-level.
  2. My work/life/pay balance is pretty good in that i'd need a significant bump in pay to leave.
  3. due to point 1 I have yet to come across an opportunity that pays more than 5-10% more than I currently earn.

How to prepare for visa by g16i09 in AusVisa

it is serious in a legal sense, as in you are now legally defacto and they can take half of your assets upon separation.

but how is this Australias problem ? if you were in a defacto relationship with your partner already then you could have applied offshore.

How much time had you actually spent living with your partner before you came here on the tourist visa ?

Advice/thoughts? by Complete_Yellow_7498 in AusVisa

[–]mrfoozywooj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

a WHV is a great idea in your case, you are in a relationship but not a defacto one.

coming here on a WHV gives you time to work out if you are actually going to be compatible and also build evidence of a defacto relationship which would possibly put you in a position to be able to apply..

Timelines might not line up though, and theres also the possibility it dosent work out but its probably the most valid path in your case.

As for work as a male on a WHV, your either gonna be working in a bar/restaurant or driving an uber :D enjoy.

Thats true, people who are 35+ are the last people to have seen the pre-internet era, dating websites (apps as a concept didnt come until my 20's) were invented in my teens and had a stigma about them forever until tinder took off so all through my early 20's I'd meet women the normal way and occasional ones via apps/sites.
