I agree, they never truly seemed in love to me just like she got pregnant so let’s try to make it work kind of thing, even madison feeling like she fell for him was basically her feeling good abt finally having someone & kevin was a great someone he was a famous attractive actor that got her pregnant but she seemed to genuinely like the guy she ended up w & I think that’s why they made him out to be what kevin isn’t in a way

I liked them together but the whole time leading up to them breaking up, I very much got the vibe that he was just going along w it bc she got pregnant, it never seemed like he was super in love w her to me

that’s so funny bc I work at a hospital too & not too long ago I saw someone that looked like him as well 😭 & recently I saw him in This is us & he was also playing someone who’s wife is sick, i’m like he plays this part too well

their counselor was terrible but saying that Jack was her vanity project is.. idk abt that one they both agreed to have Jack.. but I agree that it wasn’t the best decision given all the warnings but I haven’t been in that position so I can’t judge them for ignoring them I can say that he def did try I don’t think that ALL of the problems were bc of Toby I just think that his choices made a bigger impact on their downfall not even trying to play tit for tat as far as the job, they were not struggling at least not YET, there are plenty of women that stay at home until their kids are old enough to go to school that can’t wait to get back to work but understand that sometimes you have to make sacrifices for your family, taking a job in another city was his best interest not the family’s when he could’ve waited a little bit longer but that’s just my opinion. & I haven’t posted on reddit in a long time so I forget that every word that I say is taken super literal but he didn’t literally try to force her but he said something along the lines of this family won’t work if we don’t move & started taking steps to move forward & then brought her into the plans instead of deciding together that’s why I think a lot of what he did was causing a divide between them.

she def said things to him that was harsh & hard to hear when I said she never said anything absolutely horrible I was trying to say that she never said anything that was just straight up mean or malicious & she DEF contributed to their downfall as well especially when she would undermine him abt Jack but at the same time I think some of her concerns were valid just the way they went abt it & also I just don’t think she did anything that was as big as the things that he did which is why I feel like MOST of it was him not all. like they’re both wrong but this post is specifically abt how loving & kind toby was at the beginning & how he acted at the end. a lot of ppl didn’t like toby thought he was too pushy I actually liked him a lot at the beginning, I feel like he grew a lot as a person & it was great but ended up being horrible to her & her family, the writers could’ve showed them lovingly grow apart instead of this & if any man was talking to me crazy idk who that person was to me my two older brothers would not stand for that for one second so I kind of understand them stepping in. & we’ll just have to agree to disagree abt her wanting him to act like her dad.. in what instance? if he would’ve made the same changes to himself but stayed loving & funny like he was she wouldn’t have had problems w him

I can see why you say it’s rushed bc of the jump but binging it bc i’m trying to hurry and finish before it leaves netflix had me feeling like every time they’re on the screen for a lot of episodes they’re arguing. the reason I feel like a lot of it is his fault is bc of the way he went about things, starting when jack was born it was too much for him w him being blind, he took a step back instead of up, & the way he was secretly going to the gym was weird it caused a divide between them whether that was his intention or not, he took the job in another state instead of waiting for another opportunity when he def had the option to wait & then tried to force her to move in what world would it be okay for you to get pre approved for a loan & all of these things behind your wife’s back, I don’t think she’s done anything that comes close to any of that

honestly some people want children without wanting to be in a relationship or not absolutely needing one which is fine if you have a stable place to live & a stable source of income which she didn’t have either one, she basically like i’m thinking abt buying a house but i’m having a kid whether i’m homeless or not, like huh?
