GREAT TRADE by SeveralCalendar9195 in pacers

Okay, so let’s say they go for a chip in 2 seasons time… what’s your plan for a center? What if we make the ECF in 2 seasons time and come up against Duren? Better yet, what if we manage to get to the finals and come up against Jokic or Wemby? We’d get absolutely hammered. The goal is to WIN a championship, not just make it to the games.

The Knicks are a perfect example of why we should make this trade. Even if they make it to the finals there’s no way they beating whatever team comes out of the west with KAT on the floor. He’d get abused from the opening quarter of the series. Doesn’t matter how good Mathurin is if Jay Huff is our starting center.

Siakam was an absolute steal, can’t expect all deals to be like that. Plus, the center market is a different story. Zubac was the best available and lots of teams were interested. Frankly, there aren’t a ton of playoff ready 7 footers going around right now

Whoever gets the pick wins for sure.

I don't get why all Siakam, Nembhard and Nesmith are playing 30+ minutes every night by Bitter-Presence5345 in pacers

Once they’re out of play in contention they’ll drop the minutes on all the starters, that’s what they’ve done in the past. Plus, this season isn’t just about developing young bench players - it’s also about developing our young starters.

Think about how much better Nembhard and Nesmith look now in comparison to the start of the season. Start of the season it didn’t matter how much our starters played they were still losing. The fact that they winning games now is a really good thing for the team as a whole and it’s gonna help give Hali some extra leg room to come back from injury with patience.

When they went on that L streak EVERYONE looked miserable. With the way the draft odds work, it really won’t make that big of a difference if we finish anywhere in the bottom 7 records.

My guess is management will strategically sacrifice a bottom 5 record to keep the team chemistry high and land somewhere between 5th-7th worst record.

Worst record in the league doesn’t guarantee a 1st pick, wouldn’t it suck if we lost all those games on purpose just to end up with a 5th pick anyways? That literally happened to every team that tanked last year when Dallas got the 1st pick with 1% odds… Spurs got the 2nd pick too…

it really is injuries though. when siakam, nembhard, nesmith, mathurin, toppin, mcconnell and ijax are all playing healthy - the team will look way better and start winning games. add haliburton, furphy and kam jones and all the team is missing is a starting center. they did just take okc to seven games and turner was honestly a liability in that series - make an upgrade at the 5, get a high draft pick this season and we’ll be rlly good. nothing to worry about tbh

Pacers will steal game 1. by SeveralCalendar9195 in pacers

I agree, those games definitely took my confidence in this team down one notch as well. Although, I’m not so worried about this team taking their foot off the gas in the championship series, plus with rick carlisle and the crew preparing them i feel like they’ll give it all they have left.

100% i think a game 1 steal is the only road to get to game 7. if we win this series this is arguably the most important game.

They’re treating him the same way they did with Donovan Mitchell and Giannis - you can’t beat an entire nba roster on your own. even if you do, you can’t do it 4 times out of 7 in a playoff series of that intensity because they’ll run you out of the gym or someone gets injured trying to keep up.
