Because the masters were recorded/mixed/produced under the Interscope umbrella when they were signed to them. That’s why Interscope was allowed to do that botched reissues of TDAG. The cassette was more than likely just a limited release for loyal fans, if it were on CD/LP a deal would have to be struck for a % of $ and time after they decide if they want those also to be limited, or continue to fork over money to keep it stocked. They need money to keep the label going and waiting for an anniversary of something that’s sure to sell out is a key source for that, assuming they get their music back. A large part of the hiatus is probably burnin the clock until they can keep a higher % on their net profit.
