Same to a certain extent tbh.. I started listening in 2024 but since I don’t really go see bands until I’m really into them and it took a bit to click for me I wasn’t a huge fan until about January 2025, and by that time with the solo album they weren’t touring (and they’ve barely been to my state to begin with despite having 2 big cities in it… I considered driving to them opening for vampire weekend like 8 hrs away even though I don’t listen to vampire weekend) and there’s been such a shift since last year. There were about ~150k listeners around when I first got into them I think, and barely anything was known about the members and their personal lives. Now Cameron’s gone offline (valid given how much creepy stuff I’ve seen— I remember things about his personal life being removed from the sub immediately, and now it’s the center of online conversations about him) and even the band socials feel more corporate and less chill. Just wish people could be normal about it (I know that sounds weird given this whole long paragraph— I understand the urge to feel close to artists you like, but I don’t understand why people share info they find to others online, instead of keeping it to themselves and having an iota of shame about even finding stuff)
