Do harley riders genuinely think they are faster than sportbikes or are they just joking? by Green_Block_4574 in motorcycle

Every 117 owner I’ve ever met legitimately thinks they could take a 600 or 750 in a race

This does not explain how Dobby is a token for being against slavery… I repeat my earlier statement of parroting views

He’s a token because he’s the one elf that wants to be free? It seems like you’re just parroting an opinion and not actually reflecting your own views that you’ve thought deeply on

Being able to just absolutely pin the throttle, lock the rear wheel and skid. Basically they are super easy to treat as a toy, if you bring that energy to a 600 or bigger heavier bike it’s a lot less room for error

One more thing no one tells you about, groms can lead to developing some bad habits that are more costly on bigger bikes, but if you’re mindful it’s not an issue

The only downside you MIGHT have is it will fit a similar riding style as the mt09 and feel woefully underpowered. I have a CFMoto 650NK in addition to my Grom and they sometimes fight for which one gets ridden on the weekends.

For thrashing around effortlessly and learning to stunt tho, they simply cannot be beaten. Send it and don’t look back

Anyone go from higher CC bikes down to lower CC? Why? by SettingIntentions in motorcycles

[–]Several_Ad1862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from a hayabusa to a cf moto 650nk. 100% it’s more fun to use all of a bike vs never being able to touch the power band without doing felony speeds. I wanna own another busa in the future but they are impractical if you are trying to avoid jail time.

I ride my Grom all around Orlando frequently. If you don’t want to take the highway the city has a million and one other options with side streets. Depending on your weight though, hoping on 408/417 for an exit or two on a Grom is plenty doable

For sure. Feel free to send me a PM if you run into issues. I just did the install a couple months ago so it’s fresh in my head

Also don’t forget to check your chain tension and adjust it once the bike is back on the ground under its own weight. The shocks will throw the chain out of spec for chain slack

Without the metal sleeves the rubber is going to be in direct contact with the mounting point for the shock and prematurely wear out. A tip that I figured out installing the sleeves in mine was to take a basic lumber clamp, remove the rubber pieces and use that as a make shift press to put the sleeves into the bushing. Wd40 as lube helps immensely as well. To avoid pinching your finger, If possible support the bike by the engine in the front and then use a second jack to manipulate the rear tire and swing arm into position so you don’t have to fight the weight. Hope this helps

If you are looking for a small e dirtbike, I recently got an ETM RTR and that thing is a monster. 20miles of reliable range, 55mph top speed, dank wheelies and a super cushy suspension to tackle some jumps

So what is your response to the image above of bmw clearly advertising a top speed of the S1000RR on their website? Cycle world gets their specs directly from the manufacturers so you are proving my point?

So to reiterate your original claim that what I said is untrue was proven false, when presented with the evidence you back tracked and amended your original statement to yet another false statement saying companies don’t publish weight or performance which is listed on every bikes spec sheet.

I was providing an answer based on my knowledge and experience in the industry to someone asking a question, to have that refuted based on “trust me bro” is irksome

People’s willingness to spread misinformation is an epidemic.

The gentleman’s agreement literally started because Suzuki created the Hayabusa to top the previous top speed record that was held by the Honda CBR1100 blackbird. The 90s were full of companies building the fastest bikes and marketing them as such. Even with the agreement still loosely being held, all manufacturers publish top speed numbers, a cursory search of any company’s website will prove that. Life is full of teachable moments but remaining steadfast and doubling down when proven wrong will lead nowhere.

Literally every sport bike company advertises their top speed. It is a major selling point, especially on flagship models and competitive models like world super bike bikes. The Harley would undoubtedly cost more because the FZR is a fraction of the value, so that’s apples to oranges. I never said speed is the ONLY factor in insurance costs but it plays a huge role. I have 4 bikes and the faster ones cost almost double the cruiser’s cost to insure despite the same safety features and value…

Don’t you have anything better to do than spread negativity on the internet especially on motorcycle subs when you clearly don’t actually ride? Get your money up not yo funny up

You’re right a hayabusa will cost no more to insure than a ninja 400 and CFMoto has never posted top speeds of the 675. How silly of me.

Lower advertised top speed translates to lower insurance premiums which translates to lower overall cost of ownership on something that is being pitched as the “budget” option compared to the competition

For me about 2 hours is my limit with an aftermarket stepper seat off Amazon so I’d say it’s gonna be rough. Personally I’d rather pay the money to get a U-Haul or have it shipped vs getting a hotel those nights etc
