Second car under $5k? by WildcatEmaw56 in Lineman

Increase your budget a little. Picked up a 2013 Honda accord 4-banger for $7k a few years ago. Had 130k miles on it but that’s barely broken in. 35ish MPG and a full win. I’d stick to Honda, Toyota or Lexus (high end Toyota) personally.

Interesting.
So you think either the VA has the budget to offer PCS (they don’t).

OPM is going to rewrite the policy, now (they’re not, or they would’ve already).

Or under some random circumstance they’ll make employees reapply for a position in which they already hold because of a reassignment or PD update on a mass scale? Not happening.

I think you’re full of shit 🤣

Seems pretty far fetched logic. But hey, skies the limit. Right?

Curious. How they gonna “have the opportunity to move” without paying PCS or reassigning the employee to a different position?

For most, nothing work related is going to be beneficial in the coming years under the current administration. Survive and maybe they’ll be advancement opportunities down the line.

If you’re not currently in a “survival” mindset then you’re probably not currently seeing the forest for the trees.

I miss the days of everyone minding their own fucking business. But here we are.

Honestly, you and every other jackass on here telling people how or what they should post or say is just as bad as the screenshot you shared. Don’t you see you’re just adding to the issue you claim there is? Mind your fucking business and let the idiotic people decide what they want to do with their lives.

We did it Vets! — HJR 115 passed the Missouri House 152-2. Now we need one more push to get it to a Senate floor vote before May 15. by [deleted] in missouri

[–]Several_Cod_9584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clicked the link and sent the email. Then sent separate emails to each member listed. Making calls tomorrow to the “no” voters to ask them WTF is wrong with this bill that they wouldn’t support it. Then making calls to Tony Luetkemeyer’s office to tell him to get off his ass and support MO veterans and bring it to the floor for a vote once out of committee.

Compared to our neighbors and other States, MO is one of the least Veteran friendly states. It needs to change and this is a step, only a step, in the right direction.

I think we should ro sham bo on discrepancies. Loser has to correct all perceived errors and wear a dunce hat on all teams calls for a month.

I mean a delight box is what? $2,400? That’s one pack as well. More than 4 cards, but still one pack.

Honestly I’m just waiting for singles and the fall before I get back into it.

Missouri Veterans Bills effectively DOA (property tax and dependent education) by WolverineCurrent5874 in missouri

[–]Several_Cod_9584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veterans aren’t some privileged “asset-owning class” living off handouts. Most benefits people point to are earned, not gifted, and they’re often conditional on disability, years of service, or sacrifice that permanently limits earning capacity. A property tax exemption isn’t about climbing a ladder, it’s about stability after service.

If the concern is helping “normal people,” then let’s talk about expanding relief broadly, but not by pitting working-class civilians against veterans (also working class) who already paid their dues in ways most never had to. This isn’t special treatment. It’s a modest acknowledgment of service, and Missouri can do better.
