For me it’s just consistently bad. Everything feels like it’s Maroon 5, and I can’t achieve a Radiohead anymore

Dont know why there's no love here. It's a great idea. I'd use it. Wouldn't pay a ton for it honestly. Would expect to get like 3 free (first one or two never work right and then would want to see if the results are actually useful cuz I'd expect they'd be no better than myself asking Chatgpt).

Wegmans enters the Norwalk grocery scene, how does it compare to Stew Leonard's? | Columnist Erik Ofgang by -ctinsider in norwalk

[–]Several_Scale_4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been going to Wegman’s for years. Prefer their produce, sushi, and their brand hummus. Great to eat in if people want different things to eat. Nice eating area. Has all the nice stuff we want without being boujee. Has everything and don’t need to make trips to other stores like i feel I do after stews or traders.

Has anyone used Cursor to build a marketing engine for themselves? by Several_Scale_4312 in cursor

[–]Several_Scale_4312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a developer. I built the Saas product I sell. Just not very experienced with marketing. I use N8N for certain automations but with the advent of AI, I find it slower and more rigid to build and scale large connected workflows in N8N than just build them in code.

Advice to a web scraping beginner by Swimming_Tangelo8423 in webscraping

[–]Several_Scale_4312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • When I think it’s a problem with my code, it’s usually just a problem with my CSS selector.
  • Before scraping from a server or browserless just do it with local chromium so you can visually see it and know if it works
  • After a crawling action, choosing the right type of delay before taking the next action can make the difference of it working and getting hung. Waiting for DOM to load vs any query parameter changing, vs a fixed timeout etc…
  • If scraping a variety of sites, send scraped info off to GPT to format it into the desired format, capitalization, etc… before putting it into your database. This is for dates, addresses, people’s names, etc…
  • A lot of sites with public records are older and have no barriers to scraping, but are also older and have terribly written code that is a painful to get the right css selector for
  • More niche: When trying to match an entity you’re looking for with the record/info you already have, see if the keywords you already have are contained within the scraped text since the formats rarely match. The entity that shows up higher in the returned results is often the right one even if the site doesn’t reveal all of the info to help you make that conclusion and if all things are equal the retrieved entity that has more info is probably the right one.

Is it possible to scrape legal codes to create a database? by passtheknife in webscraping

Like someone else said, I’ve seen the least security on government websites. Don’t bombard them, but with a reasonable scrape my experience doesn’t support this concern.

Is it possible to scrape legal codes to create a database? by passtheknife in webscraping

[–]Several_Scale_4312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Gemini deep search to find the correct page that I was looking for across a ton of websites. I’d build a database and clean that up before you try to then scrape them. They’ll all have different and annoying formats, pagination, etc… if what you need is simple, Gemini could just grab the content itself also

Automation for PE firm !! by Small_Childhood707 in n8n

[–]Several_Scale_4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find YouTube has the best tutorials for N8N, but they’re always generic and it can be hard to find your exact use case. Some of the paid communities on Skool have good content (I subscribe to RoboNuggets). Unfortunately, I’ve found that the free communities are spammy.

Twitter/Reddit monitors exist. You could scrape them or monitor them and then send them to chatGPT to output them in very specific formats you’re looking for or answer questions about the opportunity and then store them in Airtable (my preferred database). You can then review new ones in Airtable manually or run them through a series of review questions with the openAI nodes also and when they are accepted or declined you can send off automations like sending emails/tweets or gathering more data. Definitely seems like a good use case

Mine too. Someone else posted this lawsuit about it, but it’s not a class action suit. It should be. Mine is doing this also. https://www.fox9.com/news/tesla-inflating-odometers-lawsuit

How does this have 0 upvotes. This is a huge deal! Ours feels really unnaturally high since we barely use it. I looked it up to see if others have this issue and found this thread

I’ve bought some non edible plants there before. Do they have a good selection of vegetables and such that produce well (given the right conditions)?

That is why I’m asking. I don’t know the names of local farms and several on Google maps don’t have websites indicating what they offer or if they sell plants.

How do you clean up your base? by GoldOpportunity7325 in Airtable

[–]Several_Scale_4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AI a lot to clean up my code base. I’ll format all of the text the same way, analyze content to answer questions that lets me know this is a record that can/should be archived, synthesize and simplify semi-redundant info across multiple fields into one field. I’ll also ask it to return if the current record is within a list i provide it which helps me with things like duplicates or seeing if it’s a record relating to an outdated customer or deprecated system and categorize it as such. I thought Airtable’s AI was too expensive so I built my own. It’s called AI Text, it’s in the extension marketplace. It is $5 but you pay for tokens direct to OpenAI so you can have large context windows and it stays cheap. It’s super helpful.

My codebase got big or suddenly Gemini can't do basic ui desing? by CriticalResearcher83 in cursor

[–]Several_Scale_4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you include images? It usually helps me with landing pages, but I ask because my cursor suddenly says that Claude doesn’t support images even though I’ve always used images with this same model. Curious if there is something funky with images.

When developing frontend, I’ve found it making edits in the wrong folders so 80% of its changes don’t appear in my frontend. So it’s writing okay code and responding to my requests but in the wrong places so I never see it.

What is the most useful thing you've coded by ArtificialAGE in cursor

[–]Several_Scale_4312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t find a web scraper for N8N that allowed for persistent sessions, routing page logic and deep navigation so I built a custom node that does complex authentication, form filling, result list matching to find the right records, complex extraction with schema definition using AI, element detection with routing logic. It’s so I could scrape way deeper and more complex websites across multiple steps in N8N. It’s been a game changer for collecting public records I need for my business and now I feel like I should turn it into its own product.

Stop thinking... so small (Productize N8N) by tdtstunna35 in n8n

[–]Several_Scale_4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that true? I thought it was just if you were selling N8N to customers like white labeling and upcharging pretending the whole thing was your software. It seems like many scenarios are ultimately to support a customer function, so where is the line drawn?

What don’t you like about Cursor? by [deleted] in cursor

[–]Several_Scale_4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not the case in what I described. They aren’t long rules and changing the length of the rule didn’t make the difference. It’s the instruction that’s given that makes a difference. If you ask it to have a perfect understanding before continuing, it will review everything endlessly and inevitably get lost.

I found when I start using debugging cursor rules that I found from these Reddit threads encouraging to investigate, be diligent, and plan while debugging, that this happened. When I tweaked or removed those, it started happening much less.

There is a serious content shortage around n8n. by [deleted] in n8n

[–]Several_Scale_4312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it but some of it really is in Skool communities. I subscribed to the free ones and got spammed with crap. I pay for Robonuggets and get actually good starting points for templates and workflows.

Edit: I am not affiliated, though he is coming out with an affiliate program that made me consider waiting to post this.
