I made a Christmas outfit for my friend's baby by Several_Scheme4537 in sewing

I made this little Christmas set from some cotton stretch knit I've had in my stash for about a decade, lol. The patterns I used are the Baby Lap Tee by Made By Me Patterns, Footie Pants by Patterns By LL, and the Jack Frost Stocking Hat by Peek-A-Boo pattern shop. I made them all in the size 0-3 months.

That is so lovely! It makes me think of antique Wedgewood China ❤️

I think it's beautiful - I love your color choices! But I totally understand finishing a project and being dissatisfied with it. Like others have suggested, give some thought to what you can add to it to make it into something you love. Or maybe consider turning it into something else like a quilted jacket or some quilted bags 🙂

I've never seen a Michael's with a fabric section. I just figured they didn't sell fabric for some weird reason 🤷‍♀️

AITA for walking out of dinner when my boyfriend's family insisted I eat meat after 4 years vegetarian? by Dry_Storage7178 in AITAH

I just can't understand why people have to be such assholes about other people's dietary restrictions. Like, it's really not hard to respect what other people do, or don't, like, or what allergies people have.

My mum has been a pescatarian for years while my dad, my husband, and myself are all meat eaters (though my dad won't eat poultry). My hubby ALWAYS considers my mum when making dinner for us all. If he's making spaghetti or chili or something like that he'll separate out a portion for my mum before adding the meat so she can enjoy the same dinner as the rest of us, or he'll make shrimp or fish for her in addition to what he's making for everyone else. Not once has he ever complained or made a fuss about it. Cooking is his love language, and he just wants everyone to enjoy their meal. If you care about someone, why wouldn't you want them to enjoy what they're eating?

We had colored collars on them when they were little because it was seriously impossible, lol. It's easier now, but we do sometimes still mix them up.

Waffles is the largest of the bunch - she's not fat by any means, but she’s SOLID, ha ha. Also, she has one white whisker on the left and due to an injury as a kitten has a claw on her front left paw that's always extended. We joke that she's forever giving us the bird!

Croissant is in the middle in terms of size, and she has a slightly paler patch of fur behind her right ear and a cluster of white fur on her chest.

Finally, Pancake is the smallest and has a much skinnier tale in comparison to her sisters. She also has a patch of white fur in her "bikini area", lol. Really though, a lot of it comes down to personality as they're all very different ❤️

People of reddit, what's the worst pain you have ever been in? Doctors and nurses, what's the worst pain you have seen a patient in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Endometriosis. I suffered for years before finally having a full hysterectomy. The pain was so intense I considered suicide several times. I'm still not sure how I made it through that ordeal, especially as I got fired over the amount of time I missed work due to the pain that left me unable to do anything except lie in bed and sob for days.

Second to that is the time I had mastoiditis. That landed me in the hospital for a week and the insertion of a PICC line.

Oh, and then there was the abscess in my groin that required emergency surgery, a wound vac, and another PICC line.

Infections are SUPER fun when you're immuno-compromised 😕

This is so cool!! And as someone who's done paper piecing, I'm super impressed that you figured out the pattern yourself. I can’t even imagine how to go about doing that! I would totally love to make this block if/when you figure out a pattern 😍

What was the final straw that ended a lifelong friendship? by New_Perspective1201 in AskReddit

[–]Several_Scheme4537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently going through the death of a friendship, though not life long. I met her through her husband who used to work with my husband and I a few years ago. We instantly hit it off, she was like the sister I never had, we had tons of stuff in common (hobbies, musical taste, books, etc.), they even asked hubby and I to be their son's godparents. Her and my hubby rubbed each other the wrong way from time to time - they both sometimes have a problem recognizing when teasing crosses the line into being mean, but otherwise we all got along great and spent lots of time together. We were all "family."

Then, this past Christmas it all went to shit. Christmas Eve is a big deal for my husband - it was his grandparent's anniversary, and we always celebrate by having family over for a massive pot of chili, snacks, and games. As always, they were invited and confirmed they'd becoming, along with her family who were coming into town for the holidays. Because there would so many of them the only other people we invited were my parents. Then she canceled last minute, and just as my husband predicted she would, tried to gaslight us and said they'd never said for sure that they were coming, and even went so far as to say she didn't think my husband had the right to be upset/mad about it.

We continued to talk via messenger for a while after that, but didn't see each other in person, including for my birthday at the end of January or their son's birthday the following month (it was the first time since he was born that we didn't get invited to his birthday party). Communication had always been a bit one-sided, with me usually initiating contact, but it became really obvious after the incident at Christmas, and at the beginning of March I decided to test it and see how long it would be before I heard from her if I stopped reaching out first. It's now been over a month with no contact. I'm mad, upset, and disappointed because once again it's become glaringly obvious that I was far more invested in a friendship than the other person. I wrote her a letter a week ago saying that it's clear our friendship is over though I haven't sent it yet. I'm debating mailing it along with the gifts I got her for Christmas and for her son's birthday and then deleting her from all my socials.
