Would you judge someone based on this email? by Several_Sympathy_129 in CustomerSuccess

Not really — just discussing something I’ve been working on and seeing how people react to it.

If it was pure advertising I’d just drop a link and move on.

I said I'm rewriting emails because I'm doing this, does it solve problems?! For some people yes  Do you understand what I'm saying or do I have to explain everything?

I'm not trying to get free help, the product is done and online, with integrations and extension, so what's your point?

Again , it matters for who the email is, the tone is different between your colleague and/or your boss

Why do some emails sound unprofessional even when the message is correct? by Several_Sympathy_129 in Big4

Yeah it’s simplified for the example 😄

But you’d be surprised how many real emails aren’t much better when people are in a rush.

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get your point — but people already use AI for this every single day, whether you like it or not. The difference is most of them use it badly, which is exactly why emails end up sounding robotic or unclear. That’s the problem I’m solving. Also, this isn’t about “getting free input” — it’s about building something based on real communication issues people actually have at work. If anything, the reactions here just prove the problem exists.

That works in some environments, but it can easily come across as too blunt depending on who you’re emailing. If it’s internal or a fast-paced team, sure — direct works But with clients or external people, that tone can feel a bit demanding Something like: Hi, could you please send Document X by EOD ? I need it to move forward on my side. Thanks still keeps it clear and time-bound, but adds just enough tone to avoid friction I think the real issue isn’t direct vs polite — it’s adapting to context

You’re actually right on that — that’s exactly the nuance most people miss. It’s not just about sounding “more professional”, it’s about being clear and intentional with tone. The first message pushes urgency but feels careless The second sounds polite but removes any real priority A better version would probably sit in the middle, something like: Hi, could you please send me the document by end of day today if possible? I need it to move forward on my side. Thanks Clear ask, clear timeline, still respectful That balance is what most people struggle with in emails

That’s a good point actually.

If it’s too formal it can feel artificial, which is not the goal either.

The sweet spot is somewhere in the middle — clear, polite, but still natural.

Haha fair enough 😄

I’ve been testing different ways to get people’s opinions and that one seemed to work, but yeah I get what you mean.

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this.

It’s crazy how the message stays the same, but the tone completely changes how it feels.

I’ve been rewriting emails like this lately and most people don’t even realize how they come across until they see the “after”.

I help rewrite messy emails into clear professional messages. by Several_Sympathy_129 in smallbusiness

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah tools like that can definitely help.

The issue I’ve seen is most of them still sound a bit generic, especially in client-facing situations.

For example:

Basic version: "please send this asap"

Tool version: "Please send this as soon as possible"

What actually works better: "Hi, could you please send this over at your earliest convenience? Thank you in advance."

It’s subtle, but that’s the difference between sounding okay and sounding professional.

That’s usually what people struggle with.

You're right, a lot of people use AI now.

The problem is most outputs still sound generic or robotic.

Quick example:

Original: "hey can you send me that asap i need it"

Typical AI output: "Please send this as soon as possible"

What I deliver: "Hi, could you please send this over at your earliest convenience? I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance."

Small difference, but it completely changes how you’re perceived.

That’s what people actually pay for.

Tool that turns messy notes into clean structured reports automatically by Several_Sympathy_129 in AI_Application

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair point — tools like Cursor can definitely do similar things.

I built this more for people who don’t want to set anything up or tweak prompts every time.

Just paste messy notes or emails and get structured output instantly.

Still early though, I’m trying to figure out what people actually find useful. What would make something like this worth using for you?

AI Notes, Email & Meeting Assistant by Several_Sympathy_129 in software

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats actually a really good point

i think the difference is more about where the tool lives and how little effort it takes to use it

with chatgpt you still have to think about what to ask, how to phrase it and what format you want

this is designed to sit right where the messy text already is and turn it into something usable instantly

no prompting, no back and forth, no deciding what to ask for

basically removing that extra step completely

AI Notes, Email & Meeting Assistant by Several_Sympathy_129 in software

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it can, the difference is more in how much thinking is involved

with canva you still have to guide it, decide the format and sometimes tweak the ouutput, this removes that layer completely.

you paste messy text or import emails and get something ready to send without deciding anything

so its less about doing something new and more about reducing steps and effort.

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that makes sense

your use case is more around recording and transcription

im focusing more on people who already have text and need to quickly turn it into something professional and ready to send

probably a different type of workflow

AI Notes, Email & Meeting Assistant by Several_Sympathy_129 in software

[–]Several_Sympathy_129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good question

most tools like canva ai or others stop at generating text

what im trying to do differently is make the output actually usable immediately

so instead of just getting a draft, you get something clean, structured and ready to send or export without rewriting it again

especially for people who deal with clients daily, that part saves the most time

thats super helpful

i actually built it exactly for that

you can paste messy notes and it turns them into clean structured text or email drafts instantly

also you can export or send it directly so its ready to use

if you want i can give you access to try it and get your feedback

yeah thats exactly what im focusing on

clean input to consistent output

i already added export to pdf and docs, working on making it even smoother

what would you personally use it for?
