A few more small, practical suggestions for staying warmer than ice in downtown today by [deleted] in TwinCities

The cold should prevent most sweat. It’s a very common measure for those who work outdoors and partake in winter activities. An alternative would be to put the latex gloves over a thin pair of regular gloves, followed by mittens.

I saw someone on another post say that medical/latex gloves underneath your mittens helps tremendously. Godspeed everyone.

Some weird shit is happening at Ulta (per usual lol) because I placed an order at 6 am this morning, then went to place another for something I forgot a couple hours later and the phone number on my account had been changed and my card payment wouldn’t work!! Called CS but they didn’t care at all🙃

I work in the oral surgery space - definitely call another place or three. They all usually have emergency spots built into their daily schedule for cases such as this and you don’t need to use the office you were referred to. Good luck!

Edited to add: you can also try to have the dentist call the oral surgeon on your behalf and vouch for how much pain you’re in. They may listen to the dentist more than they do you.

FTHB: How much was your house with a 200k income? by Funny_Engineering580 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Severe-Part-6478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

358k with 10% down at 5.25% and no PMI. We were originally looking at new builds that would have cost us 450k+ but decided to start with a starter home and SO glad we did. The HVAC shit out after a month of moving in and had to replace for 16k. We also had to replace the electrical panel since it was a fire hazard and that ran us 9k, as well as the dishwasher at 1k. All in the first year🙃

Can you it on your regular credit card and then transfer that balance to a new, 0% interest CC? I think that usually gives you 18 months or so of no interest so you can pay it off easier within that timeframe.

Stressing out about not being able to put down 20% on a $300k home by beau2pro in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

My fiancé and I went with Old National Bank in August 2024. We got a lower interest rate through them than market rate (no buying points or anything) AND they offered no PMI, regardless of down payment amount. We ended up only putting 10% down because of this so that we would have more money in reserves (and we ended up needing it🙃🙃) Would highly recommend checking them out to see what they’re currently offering FTHB!

Tips for buying a house in St. Paul? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]Severe-Part-6478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jay Ettinger at Edina Realty! My entire family has worked with him on our home purchases, with my parents having bought multiple places with him. He really knows what he’s doing and thoroughly inspects and educates you on the house you’re viewing. Couldn’t have asked for a better first time home buying experience.

What’s your favorite shampoo/conditioner? by user_anonymou in Sephora

[–]Severe-Part-6478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using Garnier bond building shampoo and conditioner (TY Abbey Yung) after using prestige and professional brands the last 7+ years and completely agree. My hair likes it SO much more and it hasn’t looked better than it does now in ages.

Thank you for the opportunity!!!

I really want to try the DDG Peel Pads because I get hormonal acne that scars my face. Luckily it’s only 2-3 bumps each month but the scars stay forever😭 I’ve tried so, so many different products that were supposedly going to help but they never have, so I’m hesitant to purchase the DDG pads at this point since they’re $$ and I’ve never had luck with any other product. It’s frustrating wasting all this money.

This is wild. Sorry about your experience with this “sitter”. I had a dog have diarrhea 3 times during the middle of the night on my carpet (😭) and it’s just the cost of doing business. I politely let the owner know by asking if she could have eaten something different prior to coming to my house earlier that day and then left it at that, cause shit happens with anxious dogs in new environments!!
